Re: Arsenal Lobby
Former Arsenal defender Ryan Garry has been forced to retire from football at the age of 27.
The versatile full-back, who featured in Arsenal's 2001 FA Youth Cup Final triumph, has called time on his playing career at Bournemouth after failing to recover from a persistent nerve-related problem in his lower leg and will become first-team coach and defensive co-ordinator at the club.
A former scholar at Highbury, Garry signed professional terms with Arsenal in July 2001 and made his first-team debut in Arsenal's 3-2 Worthington Cup Third-Round defeat at home to Sunderland in November 2002.
His only Premiership appearance was in a 6-1 victory over Southampton in May 2003, the game that started Arsenal’s 49-game unbeaten run.

AC Milan legend Dejan Savicevic says Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas just isn't that good.
Milan are being linked with the Barcelona target today.
But Savicevic, the president of the Montenegro FA, says they should consider Napoli star Marek Hamsik or Palermo's Javier Pastore ahead of the Spaniard.
"Fabregas? For me, Pastore and Hamsik are stronger players," Savicevic told Radio Sportiva.
"Fabregas is a good midfielder, but he does not have the change of pace."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal legend Tony Adams hasn't given up on returning to the Premier League.
Adams is currently in charge of FC Gabala in Azerbaijan.
For Adams, the ultimate ambition remains to manage Arsenal.
"It's a very easy job compared to the one I have got now," he told the Observer. "The resources that Arsène [Wenger] has got ... give me that tomorrow. Yes, please. I love that club dearly. I'm not ready yet. Maybe one day."

Maybe one day soon after the Wenger era..

Is this guy serious? Fabregas is much much better than Pastore.

He just has... Serie A-facer syndrome. Because Pastore plays in Calcio, he's better. Notice how he only named dudes based in Italy.

Hamsik was atrocious last season. Funny thing is that Fabregas has more pace and acceleration than him too..

'Gervinho is a real handful in training'
Gervinho has made a strong impression on his new team-mates since joining Arsenal with Kieran Gibbs the latest player to praise the Ivorian’s instant impact.
After his two-goal cameo against FC Cologne at the weekend, which prompted acclaim from Theo Walcott and Arsène Wenger among others, Gervinho has worked with the rest of the squad at their training camp in Germany.
And Gibbs, who has faced the forward in small-sided games, has warned that defenders will have their work cut out when coming up against the former Lille man this season.
“He is a handful,” the left-back told Arsenal.com. “He is going to be good for us.
“I saw some videos of him when he signed so I knew what he was capable of. For anyone to do that on their debut shows that he has come here to do something.
“We have had some new faces come in and they are settling in quite quickly. Gervinho has come in and Carl [Jenkinson] has done well.”

Denilson tips Cesc Fabregas to stay at Arsenal despite Barcelona interest
He admits he already misses Arsenal, who he joined from Sao Paulo in 2006, and believes they still have a lot of appeal to players because of manager Arsene Wenger.
The midfielder added: “He's not just a coach, he's like a dad. It's brilliant for me and for the players because he's helped the players.
“Everyone knows Arsene Wenger is a top man and a top manager.”
The French boss has come under criticism for the lack of silverware at the club over the last few years, and many supporters believe it is down to their lack of activity in the transfer market.
However, Denilson has reiterated that Wenger does not need to take on big-spending ways to rival the rest of the top four.
Denilson added: “We just need to play to show. This season I'm sure 100 per cent they can win the trophies.
"If you see Manchester [United], Chelsea buying many players, Manchester City as well, they pay much money for the players but Arsenal don't need that.”
Despite leaving the club on loan, the 23-year-old says he hopes to return to Arsenal in the future.
He said: “I miss London, I miss Arsenal.
"I lived there for five years, it's a long time for me. But I think next season I'll be back."

His wages don't merit his stay unless he has astronomical growth as a player. This would one of the situations where I draw from the massive pool of (overpaid) youth we have.

Arsenal will encounter a different style of football than they are used to when Boca Juniors come to town on Saturday, according to AW.
