justdoit_ wrote: Just curious, what happened to Jay Emmanuel-Thomas? I just read that he'll soon be off to Ipswich permanently, and previously I've only heard good things about him from Arsenal fans.
Attitude didn't match the talent, unfortunately.
When he was playing in the reserves last season, he tore it up. 11 goals in 8 games and close to getting a first team chance. There wasn't much room for him so we sent him out on loan to Cardiff. He didn't really take his chance and put in a lot of lazy and average performances. Was even boo'd by the Cardiff fans at one point (thought it does have to be said that Cardiff were going through a poor spell of form at the time).
I'm guessing that Wenger had decided that he wasn't going to make it Arsenal and decided he needed to move him on. He was 20/21 at the time and if he wasn't going to force his way in through hard work and good performances then he needed to go and make room for someone else. Benik Afobe has pretty much taken his spot now.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I mentioned this in the "Gibbs" thread, but remember Eboue played LB a few times last year? He did a decent job there if I recall correctly. I don't expect Arsene to make him our starting LB, but would you guys prefer him to Gibbs?

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I would, just because he's more defensively solid. He can also bomb up if needed.
Is going to have to cut in to do anything worthwhile, though, since his left is pretty non existant. Wouldn't work with a central player, such as Arshavin.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Wenger - We're right to use technology
By Chris Harris
Arsène Wenger has welcomed the news that goal line technology could be in operation in the Premier League by the start of next season.
Richard Scudamore, the League's chief executive, said last week that the 2012/13 campaign was "a realistic aim" to introduce the much-vaunted aid for match officials now FIFA was "constructively engaged" in the ongoing debate.
Wenger has long been an advocate of goal line technology and believes it will be a force for good in the game.
"You want it so you have a better chance to make the right decisions," said the Arsenal manager.
"You know it could be a help for the referees. The more help they get, the more decisions they get right. If out of 100 decisions they get 95 right instead of 85, you have to use technology.
"To reduce the number of mistakes as much as possible, I’m happy you can use it. And I would like to use it for more than goal line [incidents], but it’s a first step."
Wenger and his Arsenal squad will be back on home soil this weekend when the 2011 Emirates Cup gets underway but goal line technology will not be used when PSG, Boca Juniors and New York Red Bulls are in town.
"You need permission to use it and we didn’t get permission," explained Wenger.
"I think FIFA do not want to start to have a different set of rules here and there and I can understand that. But the good news is they are open to it and it looks like in the next World Cup we will have it."
Goal line technology?
(:
And then Chelsea wouldn't have beaten Spurs >>

Did Wilshere really score his GF? That's horrible. Who wants kids at that age?! She's also pretty fugly. Come on Jack, you can do so much better. Go the Fabregas way and concentrate on your football. Whore's are a plenty.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Who knows: maybe having a kid will make Wilshere a more responsible person. Alex Song had kids at a similar age, I believe (he actually has two now and is only 23), and he turned out fine.

Yeah, but remember he's British. And that GF is ugly. That's a bad mix to have.

They should definitely sign him as a coach. Beast of a defender with winner's mentality.

Hell yeah, you said it. You know he's never gonna say anything though, just out of respect. We're all going to have to wait in silence, sadly.Boss wrote:2b honest im so angry to Cesc now...He should tell the truth his boss at least...i guess u know which one's(boss) i mean..damneeeeeeeeed!
