yet again my boy Trossard comes thru despite Arteta's terrible treatment of him... how many players in the league score that goal...

That was a beautiful goal by Trossard. Definition of clutch!

Chelsea spent over 1 billion pounds this summer, yet they've become worse. That takes some effort for sure.

Chelsea have won 6 games in 9,5 months. That is insane considering the spending.

Man do I miss Ferguson.
I was such a big fan of United under him. Importance of that man is even more obvious now.

City is forever the second club of Manchester
United's worst moments are more interesting than a treble by City
a bland club that don't even generate jealousy or passion, people accept their domination hoping one day they'll eventually get bored and fuck off back to mid table

Just think, if he hadn't been such a bitch over some horse spunk then the Glazers wouldn't be the 2nd best owners in world football.
Still at least he still goes to the games.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
I think Pep is right to write Man U off as title rivals.
Yes, Man City have a ridiculous amount of money, but Pep and his coaching staff are abke blend all that individual quality and talent into a team that can play amazing football together. And several other clubs have lots of money, but can't blend all the individual talent together (Chelsea are the best example of this).
And Man U just don't seem to have the same squad depth that Man City have.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
It's already 1-0 to City over a very defensive-minded Nottingham Forest. Foden scored after a fantastic pass from Rodri and a great run by Kyle Walker to meet the pass. Haaland has look uncharacteristically off his game in the opening minutes. Doesn't seem to have his regular grit and enthusiasm.

Damn. Rodri argues with a Sheffield player and pushes the other player back. The Sheffield player theatrically throws himself to the ground and touches his face. Rodri receives a direct red and has to go off.

Hannibal starting for United, ETH hoping that name combined with Fellaini hair will save him. Great combo though.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
We dodged a bullet with Caceido, we seem to be doing just fine with McAlister in DM role. He is not suited for that role and struggles a bit but Klopp has made some tweaks that makes us win game. If we get Andre in Jan, we will give City and Arsenal a tough time for the title. Unfortunately we don't have what it takes to survive whole season with current old guard defense.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
we're not in a title race lol... City are running away with it unless you guys sort your defense and DM position out.
Otherwise it's Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs in a fight for 2nd. Was impressed by Spurs today. The best Tottenham have looked coming to the Emirates since the Poch days.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
We are getting no where close to City without a DM. We should have got Lavia done, that would have been the key to hold everything together. Frustrating considering we have such a great squad where every player coming on provides something different. Essentially, teams end up playing 3 differently styled Liverpool sides through 90 mins.
Very promising start but the goal remains the same CL qualification either top 4 or through EL victory.
Szoboszlai is a complete player man, no way we are able to keep him once he enters his prime. Only 22 right now.

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but like with Haaland, his level of talent was already very evident when they were both playing for RB Salzburg. I don’t know why some people seem to be hating on him.

I think it's a mostly because of his price tag and then how for the first 2-3 games he was basically mopping up single handedly for the disjointed Liverpool midfield. He still is doing that often in the game considering we don't play a no6.
My major issue in the first 2-3 games was that we were using his workrate as a pressing + recycling merchant ala Henderson covering for Trent and the no6 position; something that allows the ignorant to hate while us to be frustrated about. We cannot unleash him without a no6 but he's already established himself without one.
He can actually be complete player, any manager's dream. Mold him the way you want, his attributes for everything is extremely high. Closest to Gerrard if in 2-3 years he can start changing games single handedly.
