Chelsea have shown how to waste money yet again this weekend.
Is it time for Lampard yet?
Sacking Tuchel has got to be the biggest mistake Todd made.

Calvin Phillips is looking quite underwhelming in a rare match from the start. Man City are mostly fielding fringe/rotational players, but this is his chance to show why they bought him.
Sergio Gomez as well, no end product.

They had a ton of possession, but were toothless up front and quite unreliable defensively, on the few occasions that Newcastle managed to attack them. Looked like it was going to be a stalemate for the longest time.

VAR is so shit, how tf do you call offside when the players was in his own half and that it was disputable itself.

That second half from Newcastle was a complete transformation from their first half performance. Livramento is looking like a good future prospect at the moment. He had Grealish in his back pocket most of the match.

Looks like Alvarez has been practising his freekicks a lot lately. Just scored one right into the top corner to equal the score against Wolves

Wolves might break City's winning streak today. City have looked panic-y at the back.

even though I think it's mostly the shitters in the team (I knew Rashford's hot streak last season was fake news) I think ETH's time is close to being up, 4 losses from 7 games in the league, get him gone

Calvin Phillips is shit. No wonder he hardly saw any game time last season.

His subs have been pretty odd lately, but it's going to be hard for Man United to ever find stability when there's a new manager and new philosophy every other season.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
his subs were very odd last season too I cut him some slack cuz we have an injury crisis and very little off the bench but he seems out of his depth tactically, there's no diff at all from how we play with this team until the last 2 managers
I don't think we should sack him but it looks like we probably will, we always do
he also spent 120M (nost of our budget) on players that we didnt need

All on Arsenal now next weekend. We gotta beat 'em. Lay down a statement for ourselves more than anything else. Rodri and De Bruyne out.

I think you have a better team now than you've had for a long time, but it still looks like a team that was either put together by different managers, or partially orchestrated by someone in club management. Pep rightfully deserves a lot of praise for what he's achieved with Man City, but the luxury he's had with having the arguably most competent DoF in football, a high budget every season, and as much stability as you could ever hope for as a manager, really has to be a big part in how he's been able to thrive with City.
A lot of fans like to argue that x manager would be able to come in and fix whatever mess is already there, but team building will always be the primary factor that determines a team's success, and it takes a lot of time to fix a team that's been built with little rhyme or reason.

Rodri is obviously a fantastic player, but I also think it matters a lot that Calvin Phillips has been pretty poor as his replacement. It makes a lot of sense that he was hardly featured last season when you see how he's performing right now.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
This match goes down in history for one of the most blatant corruptions in football.
Spurs are nothing special, they have an okay 11 and that's about it, no quality on the bench or squad. They are certainly not better than Arsenal.

Spurs are not good at all in my opinion and will collapse sooner rather than later.

they lucked into a draw vs us, even though we weren't great ourselves vs them.
Ange got them playing nice and confident, but their squad thinness and the Spursy gene will catch up to them sooner rather than later

Re: Premier League 2023/24
yeah they definitely collapse, given how bad us and chelsea are I expect them to get CL again tho
we should have finished them off before half time in our match earlier in the season too
