Did you see the other 12 chances that didn't go in. We dominated them from the start. This is a team that lost 6-1 to Napoli by the way.

Giroud's always been a useful player. I doubt thatll change much even after his peak since his strength's were never based on his speed or stamina as much. He still has all the tools intact. Deschamps will take him again I hope.
Congrats to Milan. Pioli orchesttated this team the right way and he had to to get this trophy.

Congrats Milanisti.
Good to see Leao getting so much love as well. This was his breakout season, for sure.

Pioli celebrating like a man who could not comprehend ever winning something like this. Its adorable to be honest.
Still remember last year I moaned how he didn't deserve a full season and wanted that utter hoebag Rangnick for fresh ideas.
Winners for me this season are Zlatan, Maldini, Pioli.
As for players it ranges from Kalulu to Kessie to another who proved me wrong in RL as the young star.
Congratulations to my fine friends in ES, M99, Cascia etc as its been a pleasure to do this with you for all these years.
I was here 11 years ago celebrating that win and I cannot believe its been that long.

I very much considered them similar players, tons of ability everywhere, but their decision-making and finishing. They fixed that and now they've powered both of their clubs to titles. King shit.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Finally, the banter era is over, and its fully deserrved.
After the failed experiment with Giampolo, Pioli did wonders for the team. He combined the passion installed by Gattuso in some way with more intelligent and progressive band of football. This was cemented into a viable and winning formula by the experience of Ibra and Kjaer who carried the team on their backs during the Covid year.
In a way, that's the reason the team stumbled last season. They couldn't cope without their reference point up front. The fact they won this year with Ibra injured for more than half the season is a testament to their growth.
Every member in the team and I do mean every member, deserves this trophy. Castelijo played once and gave us three points. Daniel Maldini is the reason we won once against Spezia (along with a rare Saladmaker or Diaz goal). Tatasuranu saved a penalty against Inter. I think we are the team with the most number of goal scorers, and that's a testament to the spirit of the team.
Hard luck to Inter and their fans (especially Robes and Vibe). It was a proper title challenge, and they only lost 6 or 7 points from last season despite losing key players. I really think Inzaghi did a great job, and my only gripe against you is employing that rat Hakan.
This was seriously a good season, and I hope such seasons, with multiple possible winners become the norm going forward. This makes all the teams stronger and will be central to the recovery of the league.
I am so happy right now, and wish the best to all of you.

Same here and to think Ibra would be there for the next one 11 years later. The last time we won the league is when GL was founded lol.
Guys like Jesp, Spence, Dante were all there these last 11 years too. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few more. Though the days of you, ES, M99, and me on GL chat during those embarrassing times won’t be forgotten. We deserve this ffs.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
This forum was created the summer after we last won the league. Since then it was a downward spiral. In eleven years we've seen a 10th place finish, Cerci, Bertolacci, Matri, Bakaye Traore, Mr. Bee, Yonghong Li, that Benevento match, top players leaving for free and what not.
Remember those days in chat where we ended up talking about Shakeshack vs Five Guys while we had Diego Lopez faking an injury in a shitty stream in the background?
Remember when Fassone and Mirabelli broke our transfer record to sign absolute scrubs?
Remember that fateful January Galliani tried to save our season by signing Provinciale All Stars (Bocchetti, Destro, Paletta, Cerci)?
Remember Jackson SIIIIIII and how we thought Bacca and Luiz Adriano will be adequate?
Remember cross and inshallah with Suso?
Remember that disastrous Higuain+Caldara-Bonucci transfer?
Remember the disasterclass that was Cristian Zapata?
Remember Brocchi attending tactical seminars?
Remember Pippo?
We made it lads.

Another year for half the wages as a third/fourth option off the bench and a locker room leader is not worth it?

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
It's idiotic to want Ibra to retire when it's obvious he has a great effect on the players around him.
Playing a third of the season, he scored 8 goals and had 3 assists. One of those assists was for the Tonali goal against Lazio which arguably propelled us to the target. With a good knee, he is better at the build-up than Giroud and is a threat from set-pieces.
We wouldn't have won the title without him. Period.
Reminds me of the clowns who were glad to lose Pirlo and keep Van Bommel (not that MVB wasn't doing great, we should have kept both), only for Juve to take him and start a decade of dominance

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Also, this season is somewhat justice for two coaches:
Pirlo had 78 points with a GD of 43 compared to Allegri with 70 points and a GD of 70. He also had two trophies. If Atalanta didn't drop off a cliff this year, Juve would have missed the CL.
Also, Gattuso's Napoli, if not for their final day choke (which they did earlier this year) was actually decent, with 77 points and GD of 45. They also reached the Coppa Italia Final. This year, they have 79 points and a GD of 43.
I think Napoli would have gotten second last year if they didn't lose Osmihan to injury (Milan would still have gotten second in top of them if they also didn't lose Ibra).
I think this makes it clear how narrative affects perspective.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
We make CL by 1 point last year and this year 6 pts ahead of Lazio with a totally shit squad that's given up. Pirlo's season was as bad as this one except CR7 bailed him out against the likes of Benevento, Bologna, etc. And what about Chiesa's injury
Atalanta falling off a cliff had to be expected they are a provinciale club that had a good cycle. Instead there was more quality/parity around the league this season, many clubs have improved and won more points.
The real justice for Pirlo was to not hire him, let him coach the u23. And i say this respectfully.

Juve signed the best attacking prospect in Serie A and completely numbed him.
You are comparing the point difference between the two seasons, but that's not the metric. Pirlo was competing against a stronger Atalanta and stronger Lazio for the spot (68 points vs 64 points).
So in a season, you dropped 8 points and your GD dropped by 23.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Difference of points is a much better metric than total points. You neglect the context of each season to explain me that Pirlo was better last year... sorry no
Last season the league as a whole was absolute crap. Even Torino/Fiorentina became relegable while they usually compete
Allegri is competing against a better league overall, with a worst team. Vlahovic is a bust so far that's because his teammates cannot reach him with a pass.
