oh man
Short-term replacement in case Dembele leaves.
Loan with opzione, overreacting much?

Replacing Dembélé with Adama Traore
wonder if you guys actually REMEMBER that he was your player and he wasn't good enough
or is your head too filled up with Gavi, Nico, Pedri and Ansu Fati and the glorious future they represent?

Re: January 2022 winter window rumours, transfers, and contracts
Where did ever I say he was good enough?
The thinking here is:
1. Dembele is playing cat and mouse. Nobody knows whether he'll renew, leave now or in June.
2. Adama is coming only for 6 months
3. His salary is low enough so that there's no issues registering him
4. A very short-term fix, OBVIOUSLY nobody expects him to fill Dembele's shoes since he'll go back to Wolves in the summer. If he doesnt get injured in these six months, then that's already a one-up on Dumbele
Your generic comment on our youngsters you keep copying & pasting is getting tiresome, frankly

Re: January 2022 winter window rumours, transfers, and contracts
Serie A is such a fucking joke of a league, how the f does Atalanta reject a 40m offer from NUFC for Gosens - despite them agreeing personal terms with the player - but accept a loan with obligazione for 25m from a rival team?
This league is truly rigged, no wonder why no one is clamoring for their media rights (official Serie A games literally being shown on Youtube in MENA regions )
Its more vital for teams to finish in top 4 than actually win the league due to CL's cashpool, let that sink in.

Gosens rejected Newcastle he prefers Inter and sacrifice 15k/w from his salary doing so
Can't blame him i'd also want to live in Italy more than England

Yeah, it's still a risk. Newcastle could become the new Man City or get relegated like QPR

Don't forget it took teams like City and PSG years to get to where they are now (and they still haven't won the CL).
Money doesn't buy instant success.

Re: January 2022 winter window rumours, transfers, and contracts
Until further news Inter is the bigger club
I also think it will take years for saudi project to become a powerhouse. Newcastle are in relegation zone currently there no guarantees to play in Premier League next season. Gosens is established in Serie A, he is popular and respected, the real risk is to go play in EFL championship on windy rainy nights vs Stoke. And while his profile fits well for a team who must transition into legitness, i am not shocked that he refused the move.

Idk what Xavi's long term vision is. I'm guessing it's a 3-2-4-1. Having Adam hug the touchline and dribble to the byline with his right foot will inject Barca with a different dimension offensively.
Even if he's retarded with his decision making and overrated, I think he can do well in a simplified role like that. Not too many pacewhore right footed 1v1 wingers these days. Coman and Adama come to mind. I guess Sterling too but he plays all over the front line.
He'd play the same role Davies does for Naglesmann just on the wide right instead of the wide left. The question with him is where he'll defend off the ball. Davies can drop back into the back 4. Adama would either have to defend as a RWB in a back 5 or as a RW in a 442/433. He's a great counter attacking threat but I'm not sure you'd want someone like him closer to the opposition goal when he has such a poor scoring record.
I have not seen him play at all, but your description pretty much is still depressing Sure we need better defensively but we are worst in attack n scoring goals atm LOL... so if we do let Dembele n get another scrub in I can only see us continue our downfall, or at least being stuck there for a longer time... not to mention even more boring football...

Anyone else find it amusing how every player joining Barca is supposedly taking a wage cut or are playing for close to minimum wage?
Catalan media is really working overtime with the PR.

Re: January 2022 winter window rumours, transfers, and contracts
Yeah he's great. In theory. In reality he's had a bad knee injury and struggled to get back to his best since, and has been rather poor this season.
To be fair though, so has the whole Gladbach team, which is falling apart right now.
If he regains his form, it will be a very good addition for Juve. And a no brainer at that price. No offense to Betancur but probably an upgrade on him, too. We were also interested in signing him but it looks like we'll give Tolisso a new contract instead.

He was extremely bad in the Euros if that helps.

Also Adama has gone to Barcelona and honestly, they have paid 30 million for the same player, he has not improved anything in his game since he was 17 but I think a player like him would enjoy the space in the lol liga and the GOAT league has prepped him for this challenge

Who paid 30m for Adama? It's a loan, and the buy-out is an opzional footnote that won't be triggered cause he's not worth it

Sounds good, the point is to upgrade on Bentancur and for such a cheap transfer it seems like a good deal.

Basically a Fabinho type player. Good deal for sure, no risk anyway.

Re: January 2022 winter window rumours, transfers, and contracts
Bentancur and Valverde were supposed to guarantee Uruguay's midfield for years to come. They both had impressive starts to their careers in Europe too. Sad to see they are both not playing for their clubs.

Torreira too had a promising start and then fizzled out.

Re: January 2022 winter window rumours, transfers, and contracts
I don't remember ever being impressed by Bentancur for me his increasing importance represents the decay of Juventus midfield
We got his negotiation rights for Europe (and those of other unknown youngsters) in exchange for letting go of Tevez like 6 years ago and it's absurd that he is still here
And now Paratici sends providential offers 70 millions for Kulusevski and Bentancur, wtf ??
Take it and run
