I told you city ain't shit. Though I won't lie, it took longer than I would have liked to expose such a numpty team.
Regardless of what happens from here out I am proud of this team.

madrid have done this to me for so many years....its like damn, i dont want this drama in the final. if we can get two early goals against pool. people always talk about 'fergie time'. we've had more of those type of moments in our history than fergie. shud really be 'madrid time'

His long range passes are lethal. He's like Xabi Alonso light with tackling + box to box capabilities.

I agree to this, it really should be considered "Madrid time". This is way too ridiculous at this point.

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
Stunning. Couldn't see it live but around the 80th I saw the score and just said "oh well, we tried." I then checked half an hour later and I was astonished, was able to watch the last 3 minutes.
We need to prep perfectly for the final, hopefully Liverpool is more spent by then because they're still fighting it out for the PL.
How privileged are we to be witnessing yet another final? After the fact it felt like all those finals in the span of 5 years happened one day after the other but now it's been 4 years and it still feels just like yesterday that we won all those CLs.
I will say this, since 18-19 i've always thought that we have "wasted" in a way supreme talents like Modric, Ramos, Benzema, by not winning even more CLs. I think we should have won the league last year (were unlucky and had a lot of injuries) and that in these last 4 years we should have maybe fought it out for 1 more CL. This is coming true.
If we win the 14th these last 4 years of arguably complacent or at least underwhelming transitioning will have justified the means.
I like Liverpool but I would have wanted them to lose against City as well because I don't want anyone getting closer to our CL count, albeit everyone is still far away.
We can do this.
Hasta el final vamos real.

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
Let me begin by saying congratulations and kudos to Carlo and the players - all of them (minus of course Bale, Hazard, Jovic and Mariano).
My take on yesterday’s game is completely different than most of you!
I went into the game cautiously optimistic. For sure we were the underdogs and we had already overachieved being underdogs against two other higher rated teams. But this never say die attitude and especially Benzema, Rodrygo, Modric and Vinicius late game heroics, anything would be possible.
I do feel Madrid had the better game for the majority of the game in a very tight contest. Madrid simply put had more opportunities than City did. All of their chances were from outside the box and their only goal was a brilliant shot thanks to our impressive defense and Casemiro. We just didn’t get the right touch on our chances plus there was the obvious missed calls on Laporte, Walker, a couple of others and the missed penalty call for the handball. On the other hand, City did control much of play from a preventing a goal perspective, but at the same time they were never really threatening like the first game.
There has been so much criticism of Carlo over the midfield selection, which I find a bit ridiculous. What MKC bring is experience plus talent. Sure they aren’t as athletic as the kids, but they sure are calm under pressure which was always going to be the situation, particularly in the first half. None of the kids, at this point can be that calm and professional, which I believe was the key to the game. I think we all knew, that when the kids came on, it would be like opening the flood gates to the bulls! It simply would not have worked the other way around.
So my belief is, rather than critiquing Carlo, you should be giving him praise for his obviously working strategy.
And speaking about midfield, think now about how good the midfield will be next season with the development of these kids. Valverde, all be it a bit clumsy at times is a proven capable midfielder, Camavinga just showed he can competently play any role in the midfield including the DM role and Ceballos has demonstrated why Carlo now wants him renewed, to the point I think that They may drop the pursuit of Tchouameni (due to cost and the conflict for playing time with Casemiro).

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
I disagree bill,
Firstly, we have to give credit to Hazard for being a positive influence on the kids. Rodrygo for example looks up to Hazard and it was nice seeing him come over and congratulate Rodrygo after the game. Bale on the other hand can feck off. Hope our statement when he leaves is short and brutal. He doesn't deserve any love from any of us. I am just glad Carlo has managed to weather the media storm and allowed the team to focus on their task as opposed to being marred with controversy.
Secondly, Carlo deserves criticism for fielding KCM and expecting us to hold on for 60-70minutes. Kroos hasn't had a single great knockout performance. In fact he's a massive reason why we have looked shaky at the back in and without possession. Firstly he isn't tracking runs, he lets players run past him with ease, he doesn't get close to players allowing them to cross the ball unopposed. You do that against Liverpool and the crosses will be raining in. He is also faar too lazy opening himself up for passes to alleviate pressure on the defence making us very vulnerable when playing out from the back. He should not be starting on merit, full stop.
Casemiro, is still amazing at his job but when pairing him with Kroos and Modric he is made to look worse as he tries to cover multiple players by himself. He has already shown how good he is playong alongside Cama and Valverde. He has been an easy target when we try to put the blame on someone. Reality is that the 3 of them sadly cannot play TOGETHER. Individually they are still class
Modric has the heart of a lion but is just terrible defensively. He never lacks effort but it has been sad to see him chase shadows against Chelsea and now against City. He was arguably the worst midfielder of the 3 against City borh home and away and was rightly subbed off. He like Casemiro has shown his class when palying together with the younger midfielders. We really ought to play with either Casemiro or Modric if we want to match the intensity of other teams
Camavinga i agree is very inexperienced and can therefore be very rash with his challenges but his talent and footballing brain is top noth. I agree that it'd be too risky to play him from start in his first season but if i don't see him in the XI next season then heads need to roll
Valverde has plethora of experience. Can never understand why hw doesn't start in his favoured position. Can only put it down to seniority because having Valverde in there allows us to break lines of defence and allows us to sustain high pressure and play in the opposition half which woild greatly help our forwards who are sooooo isolated up top i really feel sorry for them.
I agree that Carlo is blamed far too quick when we lose. At the moment he doesn't want to rock the boat after we won nothing last season but I have to see bold decisions next season. No more KCM woiuld be a start. I read somewhere that we should alternate between ZZ and Carlo every time they leave and I agree, i struggle to find anyone else that could command our dressing room as well as those two
Ceballos......I am sold. Give him a new contract. Zidane was really biased against him imo. He might not be the go to guy from start against these CL teams but he is very handy to have in LL and off the bench in CL
I know I have been very negative towards Mendy but I've got to give credit for that goalline clearance yesterday. It really saved us and allowed us to mount a comeback by only having to score 2 instead of 3. I'd try him as a CB where he could better use the qualities that he has

I guess we have to agree to disagree on this aspect although I do agree with you re next season. And other than the save Mendy did yesterday, I agree with your previous assessment of Mendy. I cringed every time he had the ball yesterday. Next season though, it seems he will be behind Alaba and I’m ok with that. On the fullback front, I liked Carvajal yesterday. I think they are going with Vinicius Tobias as his backup for next season.

Oh and on Hazard, I didn’t see any of the post game. My comment was in relation to lack of playing contribution to those 4. And yes, I fully agree about shithead Bale. I don’t think they should say anything, just let him leave via the back door.

Atleti do not want to perform a pasillo. As if they were ever in the title what do w expect they are pathetico.
I wouldn't even play the bench against them. Play Juvenil A por favor. They'll obvipusly try to injure our players

Hazard is still out there celebrating and perhaps Hala is right for mentoring rodrygo and co. Thats very good of him although yeah hes not going be playing at all.
Our defense actually bought their A game yesterday. Mendy, NACHO, Carvajal all immaculate performances. militao was allright had a few hiccups but did well.
Vini wtf man. he had the easiest chance and still missed. Had that went in we would be smooth sailing to Paris without ET.
We got 3 weeks of rest. Hopefully Alaba recovers. Give Rodrygo Cama Ceballos more time to let our vets heal for the final.

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
Vini’s game is very much light touches and he was off on those touches yesterday. Shit happens, same thing happened to Benz on 2 occasions. They are human after all and Vini is still developing. We can’t expect perfection 100% of the time. In Vini’s case yesterday, Walker should have been carded twice yesterday for knocking Vini down.
I saw this Atleti move coming. Unfortunately the pastillo is becoming a thing of past and I believe poor sportmanship. We however are not innocent on this as We, Barca and Atleti have all refused to give the pastillo.

We as a club have never refused to give a pasillo. It was Zidane who refused to give one as Barca had refused to give us one the previous season. Atleti have put out a statement that they won't give a pasillo pathetic. Not that it matters but hey

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
I don't like the whole not giving an honorary salute thing.
Ironically I was against us not giving one to barca and funny enough I understood when barca didn't give to us. I have always looked at it as, if we were both in the same tournament, give it. If it's a super cup or world club then no imo not necessary. The whole not giving it just gives precedence to others not doing it. Simple sportsmanship
Michale Jordan, the goat, lost to the pistons, he not only shook their hands, he stayed on the court and gave an interview to the press (something they usually reserve for the guy on the winning team). I think it helps build character too, like I don't ever wanna be in that position again

The team has been given 3 days off and will return to training tomorrow, a day before the pathetico clash
According to AS, Carlo will be playing the B team against Pathetico. Smart move considering they'll likely butcher us.
Hope we don't even call up the starters that played against City and Rodrygo/Cama only play 60 mins

Fun game to watch
Carlo has started managing the players' minutes. Benz didn't play at all. Vini, Modric and Mendy play 30 min etc
