Asensio is not mine, but he is leaving. Getting Mendes as his agent is the sure sign he is moving on. Besides he is likely the only asset they have that will get some needed sales revenue. i suspect Hazard won’t leave so it’s Hazard and Rodrygo as bench forward subs plus Lucas.

The man is absolutely cold and severely under-played and you expect him to be clinical off the bat? I mean, Jovic is a goal scorer but he ain't Van the Man.

Still, I agree with you, fun game to watch. Helps that Madrid has nothing to really play for honestly.

Benzema should be wrapped in cotton wool now, not risked in a meaningless game. Even if you want to keep certain players fresh, there are still two other league games left aside from this one before the Pool game. Why risk your best players now? I will never know.

This is our best midfield and attack. Against some oppositions Casemiro should be starting instead of Modric but only 1 KCM at a time

Camavinga has been wonderful, so has Valverde. In fact the whole team haa been faultless

@DoC, according to Carlo he'll only start the first teamers now. Besides Benz wants to beat Rauls goalscoring record and win the European golden boot

I guess he wants to keep them fresh which is a pretty good reason. Still, he doesn't have to play them in all of the remaining games, especially when you have already won the league. It seems to be an unnecessary risk to me.

oh well...let's just hope none of them get injured.

There are 3 weeks before the CL final and just 2 liga games remain. He can’t sit his starters and expect them to be fit! Did you guys every play?

16 days Bill. Call it 2 weeks. But I agree that it's not a lot of games.

Play the starters 45-60 mins each of these games to keep them sharp.

I’m not sure he will! He has played well the last few games. Was it enough to convince Carlo? Apparently he has said he would like to stay. It really comes down to him or Marin. Marin hasn’t shown anymore than Vallejo at Zaragoza, actually Vallejo was great then. His issue has been confidence. But at end of day the question is for Carlo to answer.

The other question is Ceballos, who has played well recently. Carlo has asked for him to renew, but we haven’t heard what Ceballos wants to do. There was interest in both parties during this season from Betis, but with Isco heading there and Canales well established there, there wouldn’t be room for Ceballos. Meanwhile Madrid are still looking for a 6th midfielder. There is the possibility of Tchouameni, but they need sales income plus there is heavy competition, he will likely be off the market before an offer could be made. Meanwhile Carlo has expressed interest in Fabian Ruiz (Spanish international currently with Napoli). Then there is the option of Blanco from Castiila, however Carlo has yet to show any confidence in him. I suspect it comes down to Ceballos accepting a renewal or they go after Fabián.

I would like ceballos to stay. Guy is just unlucky with the injuries but from what little I've seen there is definitely promise.

There is another possible change for next season. Seems the club are not really satisfied with Mendy (Hala will like this!) and with Alaba moving to LB, they could put Mendy up for sale which will help in the need for sales revenues. The club seems intent on bring back Fran, with a relatively cheap buyback price and there is also Gutierrez.

Lol, he did not look bad at all considering what he's coming from. Maybe he can play next season in a 442 or 4231 sort of thing as he's not going anywhere. Would be great to see him lift up the CL, it would at least help rationalize his horrors.

Hazard is injured again (not training with the team) so no hes not back in any sort of way.

Will be 5th choice in the forward pecking order, 6th if we get a backup ST or Mariano stays

I wish Carlo didn’t make that statement about him. To me, the only way this can work is if he trains and diets over the summer and comes back fit and determined to regain his youthful form! Highly doubtful!

I hope we move on from this midfield now. Everytime a Liverpool defender cleared a ball in their box we had noone there to continue the attack. It just kills our momentum

All of the 3 demonstrated their qualities today. Casemiro with his defensive masterclass, Modric with his finesse and Kroos with his ice cold veins but seeing them struggle in defence or in Casemiro's case in possession was excruciating to watch

If Liverpool had scored in the last 15 minutes I would've hopped on a plane and punched Carlo in the gut. Man the players were nearly on their knees. Kroos was not even in the frame the last 15 minutes neither in attack or defence. Modric became redundant once it became chaotic. I am still angry he didn't make an unforced change until the 88th minute
