But it depends on what you want. Clearly Art doesn't need to have the # of 3's Hield provides, and Hield doesn't do much else. Mikal brings in some threes to mitigate the loss of 3's and then adds steals, blocks, assists etc

Bridges is a low risk high reward player

While Buddy Hield can be sketchy in FG% and turnovers but he brings more to the table. Especially if you are in need of 3s. As current opponent i have Art's situation clear in my mind and i rate this as a good trade for him.

I've had close beefs before but this one is particularly tough on the nerves

5 cats to 4 for Hield so Bridges certainly isn't "the better player lol"

i had Hield last year so i would know he is historically a borderline top 50 player, and he gives amazing production in 3s and good, solid, consistant production in pts and steals

Bridges is a yo-yo player, there's nothing i dislike more in fantasy than such players. So yea Bridges certainly isn't "the better player lol"

i get that Hield might have been underperforming early this season and that played a roll in Art underselling him, but the man didn't have any niggling injuries as far as i know, and such a great shooter as him was always going to get it together sooner rather than later. He was trending upward in the last few games before Art traded him. It's all good and well if Art didn't need the 3s and wanted to cash in on him but im afraid Art mistimed the trade for his own good, because he could have gotten a lot more/a lot better than yo-yo Bridges out of it.

in other news Luca and I have officially separated ourselves from the rest of the league Ghost really dropped the ball last week. I still think he and Art have threatening teams though, maybe Ghost just doesn't match up well against Luca

Since I won, it was a really good beef, Warrior. And I did luck out on the FG% on the final day.

Re: Hield v Bridges - Hield is probably the better player, but he's got one great category (threes) and two pretty good categories (points and steals). He barely gets to the free throw line, so his great FT% doesn't matter all that much. I'm hoping I won't miss his threes and points too much (I had the highest in both cats this week) and that Bridges will provide at least better FG% and blocks. Hopefully he will pick up his stealing, he's 1.4 career but only 0.6 this season. Anyway, I think it's a sensible trade for me.

Hield is so bad in FG% that Bridges is automatically worse. And having a wing who can block, shoot and doesn't turn the ball over is great. And he's efficient as hell too.

2016-17: 48%
2017-18: 44.6%
2018-19: 45.8%
2019-20: 42.9%
over the last two weeks: 48%
plus Hield shoots it more than Bridges so if he maintains his current form, somewhere down the line he'll even out with Bridges in that category, if not overtake him

and so far this season Hield has been a better stealer than Bridges, and there's nothing that suggests Bridges will turn it around in that category

Ummm Bridges was one of the best at steals for the entirety of last season. There is every single reason to believe it may go back up.

The comparisons you made are an objectively bad way to look at things. It's not just who produces more per cat but the magnitude of production per cat, i.e. look at the z-scores.

And based on those stats, Bridges is better. And I didn't even look at those ahead of time, I went off gut but thanks for making me want to to prove my point. It's not just pure z-scores either, but those blocks come from out-of-position. To have a wing who can score efficiently, not turn the ball over, and get steals + blocks, that's valuable, as Freeza said. It's also why Derrick White is an awesome pickup even if he doesn't score more than 14ppg and doesn't get a shit ton of assists (both of which could go up based on the fact that he's likely gonna go up in mins this year once his injury is finally gone).

Regardless, it's hilarious you'd come at me based on a throwaway comment about a trade that doesn't even involve you. I also said "it depends on what you want" and that since Art has a great 3 point shooting team, he probably doesn't need Hield that bad.

I just said as much in the post above that Hield's production is more on average and if he keeps up his current form, he'll even out with Bridges and eventually maybe even surpass him. The only reason Bridges currently has a higher rank is because he has been more efficient, don't you think i understand that?

At the end of the day one rebound / assist / steal is still a raw score and that's what adds up in the categories, so my stats provided aren't "objectively bad" when you are just looking at the numbers game.

Also the Suns are a completely different team from what they were last season, you can clearly see that in their style of play. Also the reason why everyone's production has been more equally shared in that team. So you can't just assume that Bridges steals will go up because we're already 20 games into the season and there have been no signs of that.

And lastly, you've got it wrong CZelda, I was the one who simply gave my opinion that Art undersold Hield and then you came at me. So pls i don't have time for this anymore. I just said as much that the trade doesn't even involve me in my previous post. Get off my dick.

Anyway, Zion & B. Clark tryna make me regret this trade. Couple of nice send off games from the boys. I love Clark's game. He started the year rough but is really coming into his own. I might very well be the loser on this one if Zion sustains the stocks + Clark plays how he can.
