Re: 2020/21 La Liga
Matchday 35:
Barcelona vs Atletico
Real Madrid vs Sevilla
The title deciding round right there.
Yes, I know Sevilla haven't won at Madrid in donkeys.
Can't believe they have 70 points and are 3 points off the top having scored only 49 goals. Lopetegui is a warlock.
Barca are favourites though, have to say. Game in hand vs Granada which is very winnable. Would put the title in their hands.

Re: 2020/21 La Liga
Looking at xG and man it's been a shit year for attacks in La Liga.
Sevilla with the 5th best attack with an xG of 50 ffs. 2nd best defence though. That's been the key.
Barca by far and away the best offensive team in the league because Messi is Messi, basically.

And also that loss Vs Madrid was quite unlucky.
So now a draw vs Atleti is enough for us

Only thing that can stop us is us. We will have difficult moments in most of these games and in those moments, we have in recent memory completely folded mentally. Starting with the most experienced and seasoned players and especially when challenged by players of similar quality.
So, we have to prove it. This team is completely unreliable and will remain so (in my book) until proven otherwise.

I think every Atleti, Madrid and Barca fan agree that if their own team doesnt win it Sevilla should be the one. They deserve it.

Barca will win all remaining games but sure I would be happy for Sevilla as long as it's not any of the Madrid teams.

Re: 2020/21 La Liga
It would be an incredible story if they win it considering 1-they were never in contention and 2-their squad is far worse than the other 3 teams.

Rofuckingberto lol, almost as slow as Busquets, no where near the striker there, Mingueza mistake, 1-1. Roberto also too slow to get to the end of any through balls at the other end. Its 2021 and hes still starting game, we deserve this

We look like we are gonna drop 2 points
Didnt watch the first half since didnt realize this was on, a Thursday which never happens? Why we looking so bad and tired?

Re: 2020/21 La Liga
I don’t believe we ever had a finish this close. 4 team separated by only 3 points with 5 games remaining.
It’s Atleti 73, R. mad 71, Barca 71 and Sevilla 70. Note tied on points goes to R. mad with both Atleti and Barca.
Key games are barca - Atleti and RMad - Sevilla on 8th and 9th. Although it is certainly not secure that any if these 4 wins the rest of their games. Realistically any of the 4 can win it or blow it!
The only time I remember it this close before was 2006. It was RMad, Barca and Sevilla. Going into last game, Mad and Barca tied on points with tie advantage to Mad. And Sevilla would have won if the other two both tied (and them winning).
End result was all 3 won so RMad got title. I was in a pub with 3 tvs. The games almost went in sequence, one corner would cheer then another corner, back and forth several times and for a while, both Barca and Mad were in tied games and Sevilla was clearly winning their game. That was quite a night. Could it be a repeat on May 23rd?

Was that the game Reyes came off the bench and scored in? Or have I got my years mixed up?

Re: 2020/21 La Liga
Koeman should have rotated earlier and not when every point is gold. I havnt seen the game but Roberto, Moriba, Umtiti had no business starting. Strongest lineup was a must because every game is a final now. I jinxed it too

You know I can’t remember the scores let alone who scored them, it’s the up and down non stop emotions over a full 2 hours that I recall. Edit - I just looked it up. You are right Reyes got 2 and Diarra the other. I was wrong about Sevilla, they were 2 points back and would have won if the other 2 both lost. They ended up losing while the other two won.

Re: 2020/21 La Liga
I have often said, that night was my most memorable! Even if we had lost, it still would have been memorable.
I may be different than most here (as I do like the idea of best against best aka super liga), but i enjoy competitive futbol much more than a single team dominating, no matter how pretty the play may be.

Re: 2020/21 La Liga
atleti and barca still have to play each other.....@futbol_bill, i differ with you a bit; a competitive league is good as long as there's entertainment. i'd rather dominate and entertain than a competitive snooze fest.
that league title was memorable mainly for matchday 37, a tamudo inspired espanyol taking points and exactly at the same time ruud scored to secure a point for us against zaragoza
