Trincao isn't all that great is he

This barca side aint all that special. I've been mislead from the first few games.

Just need Odriozola to be fit and deal with Fati's pace. I'm extremely confident in our chances for the clasicos.

Some commentators/pundits are bigging up Sevilla for a title challenge, but no chance imo.

De Jong may come good (he's started well at least) but the frontline doesn't have enough about it to elevate Sevilla to that level. En-Nesyri sucks, Suso and Munir are nice technical players but have no acceleration to trouble good defences, Ocampos we don't know yet if he can replicate his form from last season, etc.

The defence and midfield are strong, and Lopetegui's approach has been very solid. Enough for 3rd with Atletico being so goal shy still but no more than that imo.

One shot on goal by Sevilla.... To be honest this is the best defensive display from Sevilla in recent years, poor up front but defensively they were immense. Usually they've been very disorganized at the back.

To be fair Koeman threw the game away by starting Griezmann again. He's like a ghost.

That's Lope's Sevilla in a nutshell tbh. Defensively very good, run further and harder than they have in years, keep the ball well, but can't score. They're tougher to beat but unless it's an EL game they haven't got the quality to make a difference in the big games.

Patience... Hasn't even played a full game yet. Won't ever pick up the pace if he keeps coming on for 20 minutes towards the end.

Still did more than Griezmann, made a good cross in and almost scored.

I expect him to be starting ahead of Griezmann soon.

It doesnt work at this level anymore. It worked in Valverde's second season in the league and that too not at CL. Was found out in the CL. Didn't work last season in the league and flopped in the CL. It's a one trick hack which any team up to the 4th division of any of the top 10 leagues can cut off.

It's a vast improvement from Sevilla as last season, collected 4 at the Nou Camp without reply.

Meanwhile, all the doom and gloom predicted and Barcelona is looking decent. Wanna say good but I can't allow myself to give Koeman too much props.

Sevilla just won EL, gave Bayern a run for their money in the Super Cup final too. They are a very good side and I'm happy that Numpecucki has started to redeem himself as a decent coach. But I agree with Jay29 on the shortcomings of this Blanquirrojos team. They will easily get top 4, but to win La Liga, as mediocre as Liga has become in the past couple of seasons, you need a superstar or two. Something Sevilla lack compared with the Madrid teams and Barça.

Not sure if I've seen both Madrid and Barcelona this low at the same time in my life. Should have watched the United game instead.

I really miss the days when La Liga was the best league in the world. Now, it sucks. My god, it sucks!

And just to be clear and fair to the rest, I'm mainly targeting Barça and Madrid with my criticism. I believe the rest, particularly Sevilla, have been able to maintain their incredible consistency that made them win multiple trophies in Europe.

But the big two? They really have plummeted to new lows, and I really can't see them winning the CL again or even reaching the latter stages of the competition any time soon with the squads and policies they have.

I understand that football goes always through cycles and those two have enjoyed a lengthy period of dominance in Europe. However, I personally attribute a large part of their success to their lucky stars that gave them the two best and most consistent players of this generation in their prime to win them trophies that otherwise wouldn't be able to win.

And now, I really can't help but wonder, will Madrid and Barça ever win a CL again without a Ronaldo or a Messi in their squad? I guess only time will tell.

Griezmann needs to be hanged in the main square

This is Atletico's best chance to win the league. Madrid's gonna get Mbappe and others next year and Barca's gonna kick out Bartomeu. They need to give it their all this season.
