@Robespierre wrote:I talk about some "rated".. I mean no one rates Rugani I think . Very bad defender. I remember when Inter won 3-0 in that 2nd leg in Coppa Italia because Rugani began as starter.
Honestly I've thought Milan could have chances when I've seen him in place of De Ligt
Milan are in a fantastic moment though, covid has overturned some things and Atalanta and Milan are the two teams to run better than anyone

lol and i thought 25 million for rugani to partner with romagnoli would be awesome .... XD...
i will take ageing kjaer anyday thank you XD

we mostly capitalized on quick succession on juve's mistake. here is the thing, we suck when we play poessesion football cuz none of our players are good at it (except bennacer) maybe but man i gotta give rebic credit , guy presses and hounds players like crazy to the point that one way or another they will struggle ... and this has been largely benefical for us ...

i think most of our fans would have admitted that we used to be terirrbly slow even in counter but rebic, and some players have changed that and been good lately on pressing football or doing things on quick succcession

i have to say that more games has actually helped us - also that bench players are getting games (young players)
though i am still very concerned that ftiness wise its going to take a toll on our guys at some point

i still wouldnt say anything against juve because they have this individual qualities all over the pitch to turn the game ; if not this game then next ... so end of the day they will still go home with scudetto ... ; though i can feel that juve fans would have lot of concerns about continuing with sarri or some of things paratichi did over last transfer market - almost sold dybala, got rid of manduzkic, etc etc

its really upto rest of the team to strengthen the squad in all departments

also is this romagnoli's worst season in milan shirt?
last year he was immense !
this year individually he has struggled real bad - still believe he is one the best CB and that he needs a better partner but kjaer on 6 month has been way better and a calmer presense on and off ball than romagnoli

against inter and now against juve today ... i have never seen romagnoli so shaky on and off the ball ... i was terrified that if juve going to score its probably gonna come from him...

still woudlnt take anything from him - top class defender but wth today romagnoli mentally wasn't there...

and with paqueta too dunno if we should trust him for next season or cut or losses, when he was on pitch it was more likely that nothing will happen upfront, he kept loosing ball - after he was removed milan was more like creating upfront ... maybe we should keep him as a sub  player? a very expensive investment and its sad to see him play like this ...

We have rarely beaten the top of the table teams in the past few seasons. I don't think we won a single big game under Gattuso. It's a shame this season is practically a write-off. It'll be interesting to see how Rangnick does. He'll be given responsibility for pretty much everything. I'm sure the Italian media will be on his ass over the first few disappointing results because we binned Maldini and Boban to get him.

yep ...  its been such a long time - ... the last time we beat juve on serie a was more than half a decade ago? or as u say rightly we have rarely beaten top teams ...

and ur on point, same goes ro rangnick to that signing 3 years is a no guarantee - he will be on immense scrutiny, that being said , i feel like rangnick has this great opportunities to assess weakness and bring tailored players with both technical and mental abilities - something we always should have done before  the season begins to assess players and cast the weakness out - that has to be done this time in short time -  not like ok i will wait for a few games to see this and that then make changes...
and again from the get-go next season we have to have a team capable of competitng amongst top teams and finish in CL spot at min. no exception.

most importantly milan should drop this "famiily" we care playes attitude and start being rutheless ... like marotta
rangnick has this opportunities and its a make or break from a get-go

Atalanta might be a genuine dark horse for the title, provided that they win tomorrow and the game against Juve. They're much more of a threat than Lazio and Inter with the form they're in. Juve are obviously still in control and have a 95% chance to win, but I believe that the 5% is Atalanta and not Lazio or Inter.

atalanta has nothing to loose i tihnk they might finish 2nd but i think they have a real chance to go as far in CL though. top 4 is sealed pretty much meaning atalanta has nothing to loose both in league or in CL - even if they are out - they will come home with LOT of money

clearly the best team in italy this season

He's practically going to be our Ferguson. When was the last time a top-level coach was given that much responsibility? I think it's an interesting appointment in the sense that the club will all be under his vision. He practically built Red Bull's footballing identity. I imagine he'll do the same under Milan. Quick football based on high pressing in a 4-4-2 I imagine. Rangnick is going to go from the highest paced top league to the lowest paced top league so it'll be interesting to see how he adapts.

Ultimately, none of that matters if he isn't given time. Like you said he has a three-year contract, but if we were to lose 4 games in a row, he'd probably get sacked. He has only ever coached in the Bundesliga, so it wouldn't surprise me if there are growing pains as he adapts to a new league. He and Gazidis will both have massive targets on their back.

It's a risky appointment, but I hope all goes well.

me too bro i am actually very excited to have rangnick - and the fact that he has brought hosts of legit players who went on to become big time players - wanted by top clubs...

and ever since we are linked to rangnick we been linked to some geniunely great players (Upamecano Sabitzer Szoboszlai, amongst others) wont speak too much about them until rangnick signs paper and he actually brings top players but this is a good sign that we are not goingfor some provincial genoa like players XD

and yea i agree he needs time to have his vision taking place its really upto owners too - the best thing for rangnick would be to really get used to italian media and not get drawn away too much.

i think it would be a benefical thing for technical players like theo too not refrain him too much tactically and allow him technical freedom - same goes to calhanouglu.

that being said italian and german football are two different things ... i also think its a risky but a much needed one - i am sorta fed up with milan's lack of vision, lack of ability to assess clear weakness in team and relying on some agents to sign up their bottom lists of players ..

ribery house was robbed just after last game and apparently ribery is very pissed about this because of family safety and he says he will think about it after season ends. While comisso gave some assurances - looks like ribery may leave.

(Luckily?) Couldn't watch the game. To see we were swimming comfortably 0-2 at San Siro and then concede 3 goals in 5 minutes sounds like an absurd blackout.

Chiellini, De Ligt, Demiral, 3 defenders drastically better than Rugani unavailable. Cant just be Rugani's fault, but his role at Juve is certainly finished.

Happy to see that Rabiot scored, he is really coming into his own lately.

This would have been the chance to finish the scudetto. Now we have Atalanta, Lazio and Roma among other tricky games.

Definitely wasn’t all Rugani. Cuadrado and Alex Sandro were easily as bad but Rugani was awful too.

Ronaldo giveaway on the second or third goal was immense too.

After 60 minutes, Pjanic can’t even run anymore.

Ramsey slowest player on the field even when he subs in against tired players.

Sarri’s explanation: they blacked out. Them and me watching that game.

Top 4 is locked and i expect Atalanta will finish second. Inter despite the sketchy calendar they still have a shot at 3rd place. Lazio are broken, would be glad to hit the final nail in their coffin next week.
Then excuses will come, i bet my shoes they will blame Covid

Not happy with Milan's direction, at all.

Its obvious Maldini is leaving because he knows the vision of Gazidis and he is one of those club legends who may be naive in wanting us back to our glory days with big spending and big names.

Any Milanisti using their head will sum it up.

Gazidis, formerly of Arsenal; always had a vision to build for the long term and youth at that. But was content in the selling status of the club.

And he has yet to prove anything of worth and only has alienated key figures in Milan itself.

And then we have Rangnick, who yes created the identity of his obvious club and did have them playing attractive direct football but let us be honest, he too has produced or won fuck all of any significant note.

And his ideal? Youth, long term etc etc.

Which once again is ideal but one cannot be naive to the direction of that given Milan is not in the financial position to hold on to any gem that does interest the market and to balance the books, they will be sold.

It happens to pretty much any Dutch club and I do not want to hear any idealistic philosophies on how it is for the long term given inflation and dominance by financially larger clubs, does not allow clubs to hold on to their players. And for the reason that they have no obligation to be loyal to us (the youth).

This will be the mark of the first segment of this decade.

Huge risk and let us not forget once AGAIN, Gazidis is unironically disliked by Arsenal fans and was appointment of Silent Stan. Who runs the typically American model of selling players for optimum price. Let us not forget Ragnick has won nothing of note, does not have any Calcio experience, does not speak the language.

Isn't Italian.

Thus he will be a target of the media constantly.

The club has lost any identity beginning from the days of that utter clown Barbara Berlusconi to the coach merry-go-round. Yes a long term vision is what we needed but the direction is more to provide equilibrium to our mass amount to debt than anything else.

As fans who think we have far more significance than we do, this is what must be accepted.

Zlatan will be the second to leave once he sniffs this out.

sorry arq forgive me mate but im against maldini as a Sporting Director
i m done with another years and quoting from maldini "this squad is good enough to finish top 4"

and his relationship with former players, media and some low life agents to bring shitty players and then everyone defending milan needs time ; for decades milan has been a slacking club. I want a ruthless manager, not so called family man anymore cuz they weren't from a get go.

even if it is a risk i would pin my hopes on rangnick ANYDAY ahead of maldini

with rangnick we been linked with some legit players
with maldini he almost renewed calabria's contract had verbal agreement - had meetings with the likes of correa, de paul who are mediocre as best - willing to shell out over 40 million on some benfica kid who plays on bench ; very strange but first he had a dig at boban then owners, then gazidis, this is very strange for a person who has won it all and a relatively quiet person in media (except gourcuff bash)

sorry but i am a big maldini fan myself but just because he is a legend has a player doesn't mean he gets a free pass as a director - he is equally responsible for the season we are having - in fact maldini was person alongside leo working on milan before gazidis even came - ended up buying piatek and paqueta on jan - samu on jun months before.
im done with current mangement technical and sporting inability to assess team and weakness for years and yes - its been decades.

i dont like gazidis either but what happened at Arsenal happened there - right now we have a sporting and technical problem more than economical and gazidi didnt buy paqueta, gazidi didnt buy piatek, gazidis didnt assess a team state and say ok this is good enough
- massara, maldini, boban was but atleast boban was swift to my own surprise turned out that he was the one who recommended benncer and theo hernandez to milan (maldini; just had a personal talk to theo) ; boban had also tied verbal agreement with modric and Szoboszlai, - nicola moro (who would be next big player) was amongst the list. with boban i felt like he had a vision.
sorry but after 2 years nothing has convinced me to feel like maldini will bring club at the top. again like i said this goes same to rangnick if he fails to assess this team and cast out weakness and replace with strength to strength he will be OUT ; same with maldini  - sorry but no one gets free ticket from the kind of catastrophe milan is in.

Ask Juve fan - everyone before said Oh they kicked out - Ciro Ferrera a legendary leader and defender - along with secco they had a hammer fist and ruthless decision taken that 2011 or 2012 i believe - within next year with right players and recruiment with marotta coming everything changed.
i started to get convinced that former players DOES NOT equal to success. Everyone starts from zero

again maldini (alongside bieroff, albertini) was the reason why i supported milan since 1999 and i have never seen club falling this bad. i was a big fan of maldini as a player and ihe always will have my support but 2 years of sporting director mess - im sorry - i cant defend maldini in anyway with the chaos we are in.

@arq to your statisfaction though, i know you are pro maldini as a Sporting Director but scarconi came out in the media hinting that maldini will be ready for 2024 ... and there has been a lot of talks that by 2024 Elliot will sell milan to (big buyer ... will keep quiet for now) cuz we can talk about it when it really happens but this has been circulating on media as well on how maldini was saying that he will come back.

coming from scarconi though was like oh it might be real... so then u can dream maldini buy all the top players he wants with Money. and lets hope if we are a success by then that we dont end up getting self destroyed.

@Warrior wrote:Top 4 is locked and i expect Atalanta will finish second. Inter despite the sketchy calendar they still have a shot at 3rd place. Lazio are broken, would be glad to hit the final nail in their coffin next week.
Then excuses will come, i bet my shoes they will blame Covid

Juve: Atalanta-Sass-LAZIO-Udi-Samp-Cagliari-Roma
Lazio: Sass-Udi-JUVE-Cagliari-Hellas-Brescia-Napoli
Inter: Torino-Spal-Roma-Fio-Genoa-Napoli-Atalanta
Atalanta: Juve-Brescia-Hellas-Bologna-Milan-Parma-Inter

kinda glad that serie a has been the only league keeping it real until the end of the season!

Kicking out Boban and Maldini to fit Gazidis and give Ragnick an all powerful role is a losing project.

This will only alienate the Milan fanbase while trying to convince them to downgrade their expectations. There will be so much pressure and scrutiny.

i am willing to take that bet ...
not after season like this that maldini and boban can get away - sorry to disappoint anyone who supports maldini / boban as SP but they failed to see the shambles of team that they are now - tried course correcting by bringing 38 year old ibra and kjaer.

rangnick will have my full vote of confidence for next season and i am willing to take all the backslash if he fails. but really maldini's reign has been a catastrophe
adding to the insult maldini met with calabria and suso agent and almost renewed their contract with payrise. calabria from his current 2 million and suso demanding 6 million.
