United States Department of Energy and Cray just ordered the third and final super computer which is supposed to be delivered in early 2023. It's powered by AMD CPU and GPU and can reach 2 exaflops, or 2*10^18 calculations per second, and is faster than the current top 200 super computers put together.

Perhaps some relativity is in order. Billion dollars in dollar bills is about 127m^2, so 4*10^27 in dollar bills is 508 B km^2, which about half of Earths volume.

Jupiter. It's clearly one of the most important parameters for life on Earth.

Your life expectancy is 3 minutes give or take but the timer resets every time you breathe.

Re: Did you know / Fact thread
Your discussion made me look up an interesting fact. For how long can humans hold their breath? And here's your answer:
And here's me, who after 30 seconds underwater would do something like this:
In 2012, German freediver Tom Sietas held his breath underwater for 22 minutes and 22 seconds, besting Dane Stig Severinsen’s previous Guinness record by 22 seconds.
And here's me, who after 30 seconds underwater would do something like this:

Re: Did you know / Fact thread
when i was younger and in my peak cardio condition - i could hold mine for 2 min 45sec
i just recorded now and lasted 1 min 10 sec
funnily enough, after my drowning incident i can hold mine up to a minute now underwater when before i could only about 30 secs. And in my waking life without meaning to i sometimes go without inhaling for longer than i usually would... i read up and apparently that's something that happens to drowners if they survive, quite odd

I see I had asked you about swimming, have you tried exploring large bodies of waters again or do you innately prefer to avoid it?

i get a shock fright/tightness whenever i go into a swimming pool now. I've never tried going into any other water body since then, only made my feet wet at the edge of the shoreline again

Wtf that's some crazy shit. Glad you survived Cavy
Regarding the last paragraph, if you were not spiritual/philosophical before, i can tell you are now. It's an experience few people have lived (literally) surely it shocks the ideas about our short existence.

Knowing how to swim is basic survival, i highly suggest it
That post made me want to know more about CPR. You are so lucky to have doctors on that beach. At it been me and my buds, you were probably a goner because we don't know the procedures, and for the rest of our lives we'd feel guilty for it. Wonder why they don't teach this in schools

thanks mate
it truly was a crazy experience, i can literally say i experienced death. I always was a curious, open-minded person, but that experience just shocked another awakening in me i feel. I found a lot of truth for myself in Taoism/Buddhism/Hinduism in the two years prior to that incident so i guess i've always been on the path of knowing my truth self - to the point where i firmly believe now that this life/realm we are in cannot be all there is to our entire existence.
for about five months after that incident, i feel like that was the best time in my life. I was on such a natural high - i felt invincible - like i could see through myself and the illusion we all are - constantly. I was even more empathetic than before, i literally could feel other people's pain and disappointment in me. I did so much psychedelic drugs after that, i got a tattoo, i started my own website where i share my poetry and prose writing with friends, i tapped into a whole other reserve of creativity and i cannot get enough of it, i started chatting up girls more until i met one that really just shook me again in not too many good ways she really dragged all that high out of me and after her i've never been on that same high again.
I also felt so grateful to be alive for that entire year after that experience, but gradually that high subsided a bit over time. But i'm still here hey, and i still value the experiences i can have with all of these other people i find myself with in this existence and i still feel i have more to give

it probably really is hey. I wanted to go for swimming classes after that but it never really fell into place yet. And i still also want to learn CPR, and im sure i will. Honestly, they need to teach to us in high school.
