Re: UCL R16 2019/20 | Chelsea Vs Bayern Munich
Yeah, rather straightforward, easy win for Alphonso Davies XI.
Interesting that the best footballer in Germany is Kanadian and the best Ice Hockey player in Kanada is German.

Basically how I expected it to go
Soft red for Alonso, though. VAR just loves to screw us over

Draisaitl is world class but several other players are ahead of him including Matthews, Eichel and McDavid who is so far above the rest its a joke. Pedantic but yes.

Gnabry is amazing... what a brilliant little player.
Bayern should buy Sancho and Havertz next and what a talented team they'll have

They still have Muller, get Havertz and they're set.
Sell Coman seeing has he's constantly injured.

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh to Muslim
& Good day to the rest
Gnabry is a good example,
that you don't need to prove yourself
at EPL
to show that you have a quality.

We're in the knock out stages, top four is more important now.
lol thats very unlike you XD
though the only problem i can see in this Chelsea is the defensive aspects. the midfield and forward is alright they have capabilities to do some damage upfront
I use to be more optimistic, but I'm feeling more realistic about this.
We're better off focusing on the league
really you guys had bayern players pplaying circles...
like i absolutely thought it would be, chelsea players did have chance upfront to do some damage but they were not up for it.
defense though is nothing new u guys got really badly harassed by simple, yet effective and clincal finishing from bayern. again the weakness is the defense for chelsea

lewandowski , gnabry, Davies
even ageing muller and boateng was playing top game..
thiago alaba kimmich (one mistake aside) pavard business as usual for them and damn good to see coman back.. felt so sorry when he was injured during tottenham game
likable and formidable team and hope they go on to win CL so lewandowski get shot on winning ballon d'or

Bayern is much-maligned here but it indeed would not be a sore sight to see them win the Champions League for European heavyweights who win it does hold a place in my heart rather than nouveau-riche clubs doing so via brute force.
Plus they are likeable in terms of a handful of squad members so definitely are amongst the Top 3 to contend for the prize, no doubt.
For me? My personal prediction to win it.

If you asked me who I rather win CL i'd say
Barca, then Leipzig because underdog, then Bayern/BVB about the same level, then Atletico and the rest far behind

Every polish guy is a Bayern/BVB sympathizer because of Lewa, Kuba and Piszczek
Always had a soft spot for Bayern and i'm subconciously rooting for them in every tie Apart from the Barca games in 2015 obviously

Bundesliga teams quietly killing it in all European competitions. Interesting turn of events... can see Bayern go all the way under the leadership of Alphonso Davies.

Re: UCL R16 2019/20 | Chelsea Vs Bayern Munich
I am very confident we'll win it if we get past Atletico. Bayern are flat track bullies in CL against lower class teams to themselves, but for many years now, they've been brushed aside and eliminated by the first truly matched and world class team they've faced. With exception of Juve 2016 perhaps (in which they were inches away from elimination).
Back to Atleti, jesus, it'll not be easy. They'll play Chelsea April 2014 model...and can definitely fluke a goal.
Still think we can score 3 against them, but it'll be a nerve-reck.
Really hoping one of their players has a rush of blood early on and does something stupid to get a red card.

Likeable may be the wrong term given there is no objective scale to what is likeable nor do I dictate the definition but for purists I hold firm they are.
The way they operate from their structure of ownership to their youth category to handling of mass situations to their overall infrastructure be it financial or visual. Not to mention many of their players have been home-grown recently along with local to their league.
Nor should anyone hold it against them they indirectly weaken the league by buying local star(lets).
I am aware their arrogance and occasional self delusion can be alienating but the mentioned above trumps such trivialities since few will admit they would like their elite club to be run similar to how Bayern are.
I know I would.
Plus they represent little threat to the ones who want to maintain the status quo and as a whole it is hard not to be impressed.
I won't be celebrating their win if anything being bitter as I have similar to the three successive Real Madrid UCLs to Barça's reign of terror to Chelsea's run against statistics but I cannot write a case against it.
As of now they are officially underrated post Kovac as it is.

At this point, it feels like Gnabry is trolling Arsenal fans lmao.
He has these kind of games EXCLUSIVELY playing away in London to Arsenal's archrivals. He's not actually that much of a force of nature in everyday life

But Gnabry had been great in the league also for a few months now right? Hard to imagine their struggles earlier in the season Bayern, but they have been hitting form now and looking pretty amazing at times. They still got weaknesses but must be consider one of the favourites now.
Arsenal and Chelsea and the EPL in general apart from the top two nowadays.... think they belong to the Europa still

My two favourite teams that I follow regularly in German football are Nürnberg & then by far HSV but Bayern I simply find little reason to dislike them outside of their oddities and drama.
Many more dislikable elite clubs.
