Pep Guardiola: "What happened today we showed why we are the champions. The way we came to this stadium and played so good. I am so proud."

City's fixtures after the international break look absolutely brutal.
I hope we can increase the gap before that useless tournament in Qatar.
No disrespect to Leicester and Chelsea, but for some reason when I think of a title challenger, City are the only team in my mind. May be proven wrong.
Gini with his best performance since Barca today. Fabinho is like Mascherano and Alonso rolled into one. Lovren was our best defender all game.

Guardiola's bald head wrote:"What happened today we showed why are champion, I am so proud of my team, more than ever. We can be porud of how we played against the strongest team in Europe.
"Ask to the referees, don't ask me. Ask to Mike Riley and the guys in VAR. I would like to talk about our performance, it was so good. It was one of the best performances we have played.
"We played like back-to-back champions. We cannot deny how good Liverpool are but the way we played, the personality, it was good.
"It was quite similar to the Champions League game. It was an incredible situations in that game too but the performance today was so good. Always we try, never give up that is why we are back-to-back champions. Always fight until the end.
"It is important to grow as a club and as a team. It was an honour for both team to show Premier League to spectators this type of game."
Someone is scared

Chelsea and LCFC are indeed nowhere near title challengers unless we see similar form and performance in the 2nd half.
Side note: Richard Keys is such a bulbous non stop talking pundit who just won't let Wenger talk despite the former speaking just Outdated nonsense, and continues to interrupt the Frenchman who's opinion is actually relevant

This is usually how Pep gets when under threat Nishy as the evidence was during the Mourinho-Pep rivalry in which his outbursts were of similar stature.

Liverpool have been on the end of some bad VAR calls in the last few weeks but instead of moaning about it they shrug it off and win the game anyway. We are the best team in world football but we still have a small squad so lots of luck or some winter signings are a must if we are to go the distance
wouldn't be a Liverpool fan if they do not sneak in their future excuses already in the post

Meanwhile Berbatov has not said a word as he looks nonchalantly into the conversation with his impeccable dress sense.

Na its just that we are very level headed with what this team has already achieved and can potentially achieve or miss out on WHEREAS Arsenal fans still expect a 5-0 win with 1 change in personnel every week and where every new formation is exciting or are you guys finally back to Earth? 17 points behind Liverpool. Uff

dude you lot got ruined by the Liverpool u18 team the other week. Arsenal fans should not even be in a discussion about who will win the title.El Gunner wrote:Unique wrote:So city are the latest victim of klopps red army. Deadly is what we do. nah lad, sneaking in future excuses just goes to show your fans' mental fragility and perpetual sense of things falling apart which is a trait you get from your players and team Of course it won't happen this season because PL HQ are firmly willing to lay a helping hand to one of their darling clubs (since there is no way to aid Man Utd in their current state)

Arsenal fans worrying about the title now, reminds of how we were celebrating United losing to Everton while Hodgson's reds lost 2-1 to Blackpool at Anfield.
Remembering those days makes days like this even more amazing.
Drink it in boys...these are special special times. And fuck, we've deserved it.

Re: 2019/2020 Premier League Discussion: Chapter II
Notwithstanding the one-sided comments from still-butt-heart Madrid fans like @halamadrid2 and @Perucho21 on one hand, and long-time Pep apologists like @Casciavit and @alexjanosik on the other hand, this match is played like every matchup between these EPL giants in the past couple of years.
Liverpool's heavy metal football works for about 25 minutes in the first half and 10 minutes in the second. This is the period where Liverpool need to be focused (and have some luck) to score a goal or two because this is the period they are playing to a higher tempo than their opponents. After which even physically fit Liverpool players start to drop in intensity and lose their superiority to City (and 55 minutes on the back foot against City is a long time). Gaps start to become visible in their defence, decision making becomes poor and the attacking players are less likely to catch up with a forward running backline and midfield of the opposition. In this game they got 3 goals which none were really due to domination in the opponent's third, but because of really good counter attacking and perfectly played balls. Same as their CL matches last season. When it works it is awesome, but when it doesn't (i.e. not scoring during the heavy metal period), it is over for Liverpool. See their EPL encounters of last season.
Despite that, I think City had only about 10 minutes of complete superiority over Liverpool all match (around 5 minutes before they scored their lone goal, and 5 minutes after). Against other teams in EPL this period is close to 80 minutes. This is testament to how great this Liverpool team is in being switched on both in attack and defence. A complete performance like this is why we didn't see the regular magic conjured by the regulars Agüero, Sterling, De Bruyne and Silva.

sheer insanity, United under Fergie had luck waves but this...this is actually absurd. COnvinced Klopp sacrificed his soul to finall start winning tbh. Pool definitely won the title now. Still can't beat us though.
Speaking of big performance from the lads today. Can see us catching Sheffield United soon. Tears in my eyes.
