Someone remind me, if you don't use your wildcard by January do you still get 2 wildcards or do you "lose" the 2nd one?

From the FAQ

The Wildcard chip can be used twice a season, once in the first half of the season (before Sat 28 Dec 09:00) and once in the second half of the season. The Wildcard chip is played when confirming transfers that cost points and can't be cancelled once played.

So it seems we get 2

fuck it, wildcard played.
Went for Pukki, Tammy A & Barnes over one of Kane, Aguero, or Auba. And decided to stick with Richarlison instead of getting de Bruyne in who i think might just be going through a purple patch, but we'll see.

personally think kdb offers similar returns for less so that's who i've gone for, even if sterling outperforms kdb it really depends on how you put the price difference to work elsewhere in the team

think over the season Salah will have 5-7 more goals. Mane is not a bad option, but can sometimes go through spells of not scoring.
