well my point is people are pointing out that we have won nothing and are losers and that is true. yes we are not a bad team but we are still not good enough. i just dont understand how you can be a good loser. if arsenal or chelsea end up winning the EL you would have to say they had a better season than liverpool.Robespierre wrote:I haven't even read what you have written , It is a general thought because I expect to read this

I get the disappointment, but this is why we can't define a good season on silverware. Otherwise 90% of teams are losers and only a handful of teams ever have good seasons. I can't follow that logic.

But even with City spending, any other manager there and Klopp's Liverpool win the league.
No other manager is capable of that kind of domination.
If he Klopp can get 96 points with pool then he should be able to get 97 with City's better squad. We also just saw Conte get 93 points with a much worse team.

Just hoping this team stays put and we can build on this rather than disappearing for another 5 years.
Also would love a 1v1 chat with Klopp so that his arrogance does'nt cause us so much pain next year that people actually forget all the good he does.

2nd. 6th. It's all the same shit, except we actually have a good chance at winning a trophy next season (Europa) and Pool will end up empty handed like they have this season.
You're closer to relegation than us. Stop lmao
Btw you won't win anything and will probably finish much worse than this year since now Ole has lost his early relationship spice. Told you last time as well

No one can match them. When you see their subs 'Mahrez, Sane and Jesus' warming up. them 3 are better than most teams' starting 11 players lol.
With them spending even more and no one leaving other than scrubs.
They will win it again next year.
It really would have been great if Liverpool had won it this season
Well we don't have Salah and Firmino against Barca, they will replaced by Origi and Brewster while City could put on 400m. Levels.

You are certifiably insane mate.
I wish your wife and kids best of luck....this is a life-draining attitude.
I'd take 97 points every season until the end of times....What Klopp and this group of players have done this season is absolutely unbelievable.
But if you think the 2011-12 season where we finished 9th on 52 points, went on 6 game losing streak was better for us because we won the carling cup on penalties vs. Cardiff...then all the power to you.
When Klopp eventually goes (and I guess you'll cheer), you realize what we've lost.
Before Klopp we hadn't been in a European cup QUARTER final even for six years...yet in 4 years he's been here we've been to 2 finals, and now another semi , and yes we've lost the two finals against two SERIAL winners of each competition. But without Klopp we aren't even GETTING to that stage.
Just can't believe you aren't giving any credit to this incredible squad of players, their mentality, the coach for what they've done this season. Ask Arsenal/Chelsea/Spurs/United supporters if they'd give up their positions with us...I bet you 99.5% of them would.
We're light years ahead of all the teams in the league except City. It's equivalent of competing with a club form of Lance Armstrong, but we're doing that and who knows, there could still be one last twist.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
I would take the FA cup and 4th in the league over 2nd in the league and nothing. At the end of the day all we did was qualify for the champions league. For all the points we have for all the wins we had all we won was a place in the champions league for next season the same as that bunch of scrubs spurs.Jay29 wrote:Saying Liverpool are "losers" because they didn't win the title with 97 points is incredibly stupid. They lost one league game all season long yet someone is saying that Arsenal and Chelsea will have had a better season if they win the EL? Get out of here. Or would Liverpool fans trade away their league season for an FA Cup or a Carabao Cup?

Part of what you're saying is true about history though, since if say 10 or 20 years down the line for ppl who didnt watch football today it would be hard for them to know how good Liverpool have been this season, but for us fans who does watch, I doubt much wouldnt think that, and do appreciate Liverpool' season and performances, etc. Some things are more important than ppl's opinions, especially the general public who often have no idea.

You're honestly such a disgrace of a fan. This negative energy...I'm glad the fans that are at Anfield now for the game don't have that.
Tell me...which season do you have more fond memories of:
2011-12 or 2013-14 ?? I don't include this season, because it's still fresh. but tell me which season you're gonna talk about more with your grand kids when they grew up? Isn't the whole point of what you're trying to say? HISTORY DOENS'T REMEMBER YOU UNLESS YOU WIN THE TROPHY ?
If that's the end of all, then 95% of football clubs never win a trophy...so basically their entire existence is bullshit?
How the FUCK did we shit the bed vs. Barca? My friend, a Barca season ticket holder, was at Camp Nou and after the match he texted me sayinghe can't believe the result and he doesn't remember the last time Barca got so dominated at their own turf for half hour.
We are on point for the third EVER highest tally in a league campaign...in HISTORY of English football....since Klopp has come here, our transfer hit % has been above 80%...something unheard of.
It's now become a "norm" for us fans to expect competing at the highest levels in May both in the PL and CL until the very last week of the season, whereas before Klopp our season was usually over in November and we were having difficulties beating Besiktas' of this world in EL.
And you are saying Klopp has NOT done a fantastic job? What a disgrace honestly...I'm disgusted. You deserve Hodgson as our manager...that's the exact same fan attitude that got Rafa sacked in 2010 and sent us to an almost decade-long irrelevance footballing wise.
gonna call MI6 and ask them to send 50,000 single men in their 20s from Chad to your neighbourhood just to piss you off. Legit, I'm bewildered at how ungrateful you are. Just mind-blowing

Conte is another exceptional league manager, no doubt about it.
However, his second season fell apart in a way Pep's teams wouldn't, as he's fighting with his board.
So his propensity for falling out, or having conflicts, with club management is having a bearing on his conisistency.
Pep is always consistent, of course he's always in jobs that make it possible and also leaves after a short cycle of 3 seasons

Anyway he is capable, as is Klopp.
Can't be bothered to check but iirc Mou also beat Pep to one league.
Pep isn't unique in his ability to win this league with a squad like City.

Trophies matter more long term. Peoples opinions, views and memory shift over time. But a piece of silverware is an absolute. Klopp out IMO.

Fifa's Appeal Committee has rejected #CFC's appeal against a two-window transfer ban (with the exception of minors). The club now have the option to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to see if the ruling can be overturned, or the ban delayed. https://t.co/M2mmg0jiSo
