Elneny is somehow a worse Denilson. He doesn't come back to pick up the ball, doesn't get forward to support the attack, doesn't chase the base, can't pass forwards, can't take the ball on the half-turn, can't dribble... like, wtf is he out there for? To have the opposition confuse him for Guendouzi? Giving him the ball is pointless. He'll either go backwards or take so long to make his mind up he'll get robbed or Palace will block off any passes.

Elneny should be in that space. If not him, then Guendouzi needs to go there. But those two have no understanding whatsoever. Guendouzi is the only one of the two trying to get on the ball, face forward and pick out players in advance positions, but his effectiveness in that role is completely undermined by his partner going missing.

I had to put up with Terry Gibson saying Ozil's movement was bad because he kept drifting into wide spaces, but Ozil is doing that because the jokers behind him can't find him otherwise. It's yet another game where Ozil's technical quality, vision and intelligence are so far beyond any other player we have and we're wasting it.

Torreira has to come on at HT. Maybe bring in Mkhitaryan or Iwobi for Mustafi/Dinos as well because why do we need three centre backs right now?
