Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
Not a great game. We were in second gear all of the game. Seemed fairly obvious we had one eye on the United game. Happy that it was a good result without the players having to exert too much.

Because Messi creates ridiculously amount of chances for him.
Others don't have the luxury of having such quality service despite misfiring in front of goal.
Abomination of a post. Suarez has one of the best movements in the game, he gets into more goalscoring positions than he can chew and it's all down to his own ability. 90 % of the time the only thing Messi creates is the outlet ball to Alba which Alba returns back to him (and only him). The few occasions where Suarez gets the ball from Messi, Suarez waits and lays it back to Messi as well.
I bet 100 Euros Ronaldo has the highest "big chances missed" statistics in Serie A. I can't find the recent data but as of November he was already leading at 8:
http://asroma360.com/2018/11/big-chances-missed-ranking-dzeko-chases-ronaldo/
Players like that with superb goalscoring movement always have the highest amount of missed chances.
lol that's some fucking BS, especially this season. It's ironic how you could include that sentence in your post and yet call someone else's post an abomination.

Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
A quiet 1st half but fantastic 2nd half from Messi. At times it seemed to me he was the only Barca player who wanted to win the game. Others were happy with a draw.
Felt sorry for Oblak though. His awareness and reading of the movements are so good. Had very little to do with any of the goals.
Poor to see Coutinho roaming around all over the pitches meaninglessly. Suarez did what Coutinho was supposed to do in a game like this where you cant break the defense and beat the keeper. I wish we offload him soon at a reasonable price.

Sarabia is available for cheap since his contract is up in 2020.
11 goals and 11 assists in La Liga.
Needs to be signed by a top club imo.
I'd miss him but Sevilla have Bryan Gil coming through so they'll be fine.

Vasquez, oof. Bloody hell, the Seville Derby never disappoints.
Sarabia is such a tidy winger, shame he never succeeded at Madrid but he really needs a top club to take a gamble on him.

Mudo Vazquez sleeps through most games but every so often he'll pop up with goals like that.

Sigh, gg Sevilla, great football match. Really, really good football match. Caparros doing his usual "fix Sevilla before someone else messes it up" routine nicely.

If Getafe makes the CL and Utd doesn't, I think the PL should honestly relegate them. Should also tell you the state of how both Sevilla and Valencia were during the season as well.

Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
Sevilla were comfortably top four until the winter break, and then their form went into a tailspin. Crashed out the Copa and EL as well. It cost Machin his job, even though they weren't that far away from fourth. Caparros puts two or three wins together, Getafe's form drops and all of a sudden it's looking okay again.
Just looked at the fixtures and it's Getafe vs Sevilla next week. Nice six pointer there.

I wouldn't say 1-1 with Leganes is saving much of anything tbh.

As the Argentine announcers were saying, it’s as if several of them know they won’t remain next season and just aren’t giving any effort. They should be auditioning for next season!

Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
It's not a big deal, but it's an unfortunate draw if we intend to snatch second place from Atletico. I love Real Madrid. I've been following the club since I was in my pre-teens, but I seem to watch our matches mostly out of sentimentality, these days. I honestly feel more stimulated when I clip my toenails. I regret rushing through traffic on my way home from a dinner party, only to watch two teams that looked insufferably incapable of breaking the deadlock.
Legane's fans were evidently surprised and genuinely happy with the result, but I thought the result was rather predictable. At least, we scored a goal. I suppose we should take what we can. I don't mind poor results as much as the lack of convincing performances. 3rd place or 4th place in a 2, arguably 3 horse league isn't the end of the world, especially considering our success in recent years. I sure as hell miss the times when we looked like we were capable of putting up a fight against anyone, though. I wouldn't fancy our chances of beating segunda teams, at this point in time.

exactly....
Its pathetic when your head coach says "At Madrid there are a lot of players you could sell for good money" with 6 weeks of games still remaining. When your coach gives up, what as a player you can do.

news flash, the team is out of all competitions. the 6 week of games is just to complete the season. what else can players do? they had the chance to do something in october november december jan and feb. hell they had the chance to do something when we lost 3 titles in one week. this isn't on zidane, he's come in when the season is over. if the players are waiting for someone to cuddle them after they've already shot themselves in the foot arm and nutts, then they shouldn't be playing here. these guys don't deserve zidane, a coach who actually treats them with respect. they deserve mourinho tbh

Apparently Sevilla's players can't jump without sticking their hands out. 2-0 down, both pens for handballs, Escudero sent off with one yellow for dissent and the other for handball. Complete and total shite.

If Getafe make CL before Utd and Arsenal does, I think that statement should also apply to said fans here too.
