La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
Rubiales ruined his country world cup chances, and he is already bullying Sevilla to play the supercup in one tie. Good idea that could have waited a year but no Rubiales forced sevilla even though they did not want. Nasty way to do business, arrogant c*nt

The El Clasico would feel a bit different this time I reckon
No more focusing on just Messi and Cristiano. It's been a long time.

To be fair Nick, the Super Cup being 2 legs is a bit silly. Not surprised Rubiales is bullying his way into the hearts and minds of other clubs. Fun times for La Liga await.

Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
no one actually argues that we should continue to play it over two ties. But a club like Sevilla which counts on the money for gate entries, does not mind. So they asked to chnage it next year because fans had already bought places etc... But noooooo we NEEDED to change it this year because of big bad Rubiales, what a prick

La Liga schedule was announced today
In the first 10 games we play away at Sevilla, Atletico, athletic, and barca.
Lopetegui is gonna get fired after 2 months lmao

Unless Athletic has been secretly preparing a bomb squad for this season (or in reality, stealing more talented players from smaller Basque clubs), that should be a 3 points away from home. The rest, well, good luck to Lope I suppose.

So the Supercup will be played in Morocco since it will generate more income for Barca or so I read? So strange, this cup is turning into more of a commercial tool now...

Did you mix up "this cup" and "football"? Because there's no other explanation for Fakenaldo winning more than 1 Ballon d'Or playing like shit bag compared to Messi, and refs giving titles for Uefadrid season after season.BarcaLearning wrote:So the Supercup will be played in Morocco since it will generate more income for Barca or so I read? ...what is this post?
clearly harmonica is in need of a firmware update.
no concern over competition. Real Madrid could use reinforcements upfront however. I trust Benzema. Bale is another story not because of performance, but a matter of availability. Risky to rely on someone who can be out for months on a moments notice.
Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
On the Supercopa: as far I know, Sevilla were against the one off game because one of the original legs was a part of their season ticket plan. They thought it was too abrupt a change considering fans would have to change their plans.
At the same time, I think they'd be okay with a one-off game. Two legs was always excessive for a pre-season showpiece game and Sevilla have Europa League qualification to manage before then.
In any case, it might be good to play Sevilla early this year. The new manager Pablo Machin (hired after his great work with Girona last season) will still be settling in, and if pre-season is anything to go by it'll be a 3-4-2-1 this year (plus they're supposed to be signing two more centre backs soon, so that's a pretty big clue). It's not a traditional Sevilla system by any means.
Then there's the matter of if he'll have N'Zonzi and Banega to work with or if the midfield ends up being The Mustache and Mudo.
The team's shaping up to be:
Think 4th is beyond them, though. Valencia look strong and Betis have strengthend well so far.

It's not like Sevilla got any choice Rubiales forced the change and that was it.
I see that Sevilla are also negotiating to sign Bakayoko

Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
The team's already good enough to finish higher than seventh. A steadying presence in the dug out was needed the most.
They've got Amadou in from Lille to add more power to the defence, and are close to Joris Gnagnon from Rennes and Sergi Gomez from Celta so the backline is getting some much needed reinforcement. Corchia is also back from injury which is a big plus.
The midfield and attack is fine atm. I think Ben Yedder is set for a big season and there are signs that Nolito might be rediscovering his form.

Plus the options of Rodri, Vitolo and Correa off the bench.

I agree the team could have done better with someone other than Montella in charge. But I'm still sceptical about the new additions, I've literally haven't heard of any of them.
Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
That's just typically how Sevilla do things, really. Nobody knew who Clement Lenglet was a year and a half ago, now he's a Barcelona player.
Granted, they're not all hits, and sometimes you have to sign some established players to get to the next level. It's just having that solid base to build from is important and it's hard to build when players are always leaving.
There's also a lot re-adjustment going on. Last summer turned out so bad that it cost Oscar Arias (Monchi's replacement) his job. Now Joaquin Capparos is heading up the transfers, and I think he's hoping that Machin can get more out of those signings rather than clear everyone out and start over yet again.

No one should doubt his Quality. It's his fitness thats in question. cant be top scorer if hes spending more time eating biscuits and drinking tea in the infirmary than scoring goals on the pitch.
