Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
Sevilla are just like Tottenham before Pochettino arrived.
They're great at home, have some exciting players and are generally fun to watch, but the moment they go away to a tough ground - Barcelona, Madrid, Atletico, Valencia, Athletic - they crumble.
I've been watching them for six years and have seen six different groups of players and seven different managers, but have yet to see them go to any of those grounds and grind out a decent result.

Is there are an argument to be made because there's so much turnover that it's not surprising they struggle to make a dent against top opposition.
I would think that continuity is one of the most important things for that type of success.

I agree. It's hard to toughen a team up when that team gets broken up every year. The best players and personalities need to stick around for that.
I think Sevilla's current squad is good, if a little old. I'm not that mad about being smashed by Barcelona because meh, it happens to everyone. They're just hitting a glass ceiling and I'm not sure how they break through it.

It baffles me that people think big clubs don’t care about domestic cups, you only have to see the reaction of the players/fans in this game to see it, Suarez saying he hasn’t slept because of the adrenaline etc...

Obviously, since it's Barcelona we're going to play, the tie is no longer meaningless. But unlike Suarez, I wouldn't lose any sleep if we lost to them, nor would be ecstatic if we won it.
It depends on the person looking at it. To me it's almost worthless, but to each their own I guess.

Benzema will destroy Pique as usual but other than that good luck to the Real Madrid defense against Dempélé, Messi and Suarez and the best midfielder in the world, King Arthur.

Don't be too cocky, now
There are lots of if's in this particular scenario, but if Madrid does the following, we'll beat you:
1. If Benzema goes into beast mode.
2. If Vini plays.
3. If Llorente plays.
4. If Marcelo doesn't play.
5. If Navas plays (This one is just to put a smile upon hala's face)
Then we'll have a decent chance of beating you. Otherwise, we'll get royally screwed

Re: La Liga 2018/19 Discussion
This is the best thing for the madrid right now a good string of tough games to see what's what with the players, hope they step up and take a leap forward as a team, they are experienced enough they know what to do, with an exception of vini but this is a great opportunity for him to learn and cement his place permanently at lw going forward, if Solari pulls off this string of games on a positive note I'm not against him staying he not bad tbh.
I feel the players are gonna go all out win or lose due that trashing earlier in the season, they definitely want to win to say it JLO fault not theirs, the team should be able to take barca if things goes as well as its been going just keep it close, this should be beneficial for the league clash.

I'm sure some of them care, but how much quality and more importantly - depth they have in their squad probably plays into how much effort they put into trying to win it. I imagine the cup doesn't look so appealing when you have 0 depth, but a squad capable of winning the Champions League. I wouldn't save my energy for the cup.

Brilliant stuff by Rodrigo. Finding such an exquisite pass at that speed while dribbling
