Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
I had totally forgotten about tonight's game, but thankfully a friend of mine reminded me.
Really don't have a favorite, but I really hope Liverpool can keep up with City throughout the entire campaign and eventually wins the whole thing.
I'm saying this because I have gotten used to seeing City being crowned champion of England several times in recent years, but Liverpool hasn't won it since 1990. If they win, and considering how big and passionate their fanbase is, their celebration will be glorious.
Good luck to both teams and may the better team win!

Just seen City's team, Pep has lost the game before it started again because he overthinks things.
What they did in the first game this season worked fine, they were just unlucky.
Liverpool will win easily.

Not sure about that Milner - Henderson - Wijnaldum midfield when you have both Keita and Fabinho on the bench...

I am going to say he is going with experienced midfield players.
Does Kompany play much these days?

Honestly, when your options for LB are Zinchenko, Danilo, and Laporte I don't blame him for going with Laporte as the first two suck at LB and at least with Laporte he has the flexibility to change to a 3 man defense.
Then again I don't think his 3-5-2 has ever worked in a truly big game.
I'm expecting a draw. City is mentally weak, so I don't see them rising to the occasion. Liverpool also looks like a team that is going to win the title. Quality and luck are on their side.

I just want Liverpool to lose. Not overly bothered what it means for the title on the whole.
I suspect City will have most of the game. Liverpool have no need to be gung ho about this.

At least Liverpool's players will understand their jobs and Klopp isn't messing with the structure of the team.
On the other hand Pep is doing the opposite, the reason they didn't lose earlier in the season unlike the CL ties is because Pep didn't mess around too much.
Liverpool will win because of this.

Liverpool just made the best chance of the opening 15 mins. Cut right through City.
City are struggling. Liverpool are blocking off their passing from the back (as per usual), and City's full-backs don't have the quality to make the difference.

That was the most FIFA esque deflection I've seen all season w.r.t Stones kicking it straight to the keeper head.

Klopp sees what the rest of us do. Milner and Wjnaldum are better.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Also against City your midfield creation doesn't really matter.
All you need them to do block passing lines, win the ball back and hit throughballs to your forwards.
So it's really irrelevant that you might struggle to create against smaller teams with these midfielders when the space given to them is vastly different.

I can see Liverpool scoring in the second half, even with Man City getting some mojo after the late goal. Can see it coming from a back pass to the keeper.

Well, that is what Aguero does.
Apart from that tightest goalline clearance in the history of football we don't look like scoring. Take Hendo or Wijnaldum out and either Shaqiri or Keita in, please.

Why would you bench all 3 of your best midfielders in the biggest game of the season Klopp?
Not even surprised by this performance, no idea why Firenze is calling me pessimistic. It's like playing Anderson, Herrera and Tosic midfield in the biggest game of your season.
