How do you think this can be covered?
They made no signings this season, was this a factor? I just thought they got bested in the market.

It's normal. New stadium is an investment that will pay off over a longer period of time.. Do you think they would build a stadium just to go bankrupt?

stadium build was always going to be expensive, and the costs went up by like 100m because of the Brexit driven pound devaluation.Nishankly wrote:Jay29 wrote:Spurs' net debt set to rise to £600m after taking out another loan:

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
They also have taken out £400m in bank loans, which are repayable over a five-year period. So that's already £80m going out from the club's pockets every year.
Then you have the initial ballpark figure of £400m of global construction cost that jumped to £750m following Brexit and then to £850m. So really if you think about it, their wage structure should be capped at a basic £100,000 a week.
If you factor all that in, not only should Tottenham struggle and struggle badly to land A-list players with that wage structure, they'll also have a hard time keeping their best players from leaving without giving them a raise. Not to mention that you won't see them bidding anywhere close to £100m for any player anytime soon.
Once the stadium is built though and all their debts are paid, they'll be stronger than ever before, financially and football-wise.
So I don't think they were bested out in the market, but more like they didn't even bother trying because they knew already they had no chance with their weakened financial muscle.

They just raised Kane's wage to 200,000£ and Alli's to 150,000£ and Eriksen is supposed to get something similiar to these two

That's not what i meant ffs
Wanted to know if it continues to affect their transfers because they have a solid squad that requires building before some jump ship.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
It's only a shame that we finally build a proper team and we have to try compete with this City team
City broke record points last year and I think they will be even stronger this season. They now have Bernardo Silva who is like a new signing at CM, probably their best player this season so far. They have Bernando Silva, D.Silva and De Bruyne to compete for 2 spots, and De Bruyne is just coming from injury so they will only improve from here. They have last season's attack + Mahrez on top of that. They also have Mendy instead of Delph this season. And Laporte is now fully adapted to the league and system he looks like a rock so far they only conceded 3 goals and none of them were scored by an attacker or midfielder.
How can anyone compete with them? I think it will be really hard for anyone to chase them this season
I rate us more to win the CL than PL, because we are a european team we love to play CL and even when we had weak teams we always overachieved in the CL, we can beat anyone over 2 legs, but over 38 games I don't think any team in the world can compete with City's depth in the team. Their team is built to win league titles

are people telling me that spurs agreed to a deal where by the construction firm can just keep adding million and millions to the price every week. bit stupid dont you think. if it were me i would have agreed a total price for the build and that way if it over runs it eats into the profit of the construction firm and not me.

For the Arsenal fans, what do you think about Aaron Ramsey's situation? I just read hes not wanted anymore, while just short while ago he was one of your best performers? I guess Emery just doesnt like him or something? Just strange to see such a key player let go by the club so quickly.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
When was he one of our best performers?
Ramsey peaked for half a season in 2013/14 or was it 14/15 and ever since then he has just popped up again with important goals in our FA Cup success which increased his hype.
He is a decent player overall, but he is nowhere near what we need. His level is for a midtable PL team, or high-end Serie A teams.
