Thierry Henry to be new Monaco manager

Really a shame.  He deserved a longer rope.  The results have been terrible this year so far... yes.  But he's always given a raw hand and all his best players get sold everyone 1-2 years.  It was a complete rebuild this summer.

Who are they going to replace him with anyhow.

Henry taking over...

Jardim is a great upper midtier coach, he should do well at Borussia/Roma/Valencia/United/etc

I hope he does well but boy it's going to be tough. Can see him crawling back to Sky after this stint.

I really can't explain it. Is it naivety? Delusion? A little bit of both? Who knows really, but those owners and presidents who sell their best players and then hold the manager responsible for the inevitable bad results should really get their heads checked. Or even better, step down and let someone with heart run the club.

Since the new ownership took over for AS Monaco, they have made a profit of 450 million euros on transfers...

I'm fairly certain Henry will turn out to be a mediocre to poor manager. He'll be back in the media doing punditry in a couple of years or so.

Huge first job for Henry, though. He's got a young squad and needs to salvage the season because I feel like anything less than European football next year won't be acceptable for Monaco.

New manager effect will win him some time. He needs to steady the ship first.

Ship is fine. Jardim's message had gotten old and wasn't impacting the players.

They need Falcao to become Falcao again and Henry will help him do that.

Second, Glik, Jemerson and Raggi need to go. They suck.

Let's hope for Monaco's sake that Henry didn't inherit too much from Wenger and Martinez, otherwise those defender will continue to suck.

Meanwhile, As Monaco have 4 wins, 3 draws in 7 games since Jardim has taken over.

Henry's coaching career must be considered worse than Gary Neville's.

the squad has also completely changed from what henry used to have though, withnew players like: Gelson martin, Cesc, Adrien Silva, fit Golovin and Rory Lopes. they make a huge difference

Uh huh, nothing to do with a way more competent manager at the helm. Henry had a worse outing as a manager than Neville, it's obvious now.

I'm not saying he was great but Monaco also significantly upgraded the squad, just saying.

Yeah they did...by hiring a much more competent manager.
