Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part II
It's a training match. City creating angles and chances at will. Working on new movements and combinations. Players testing new positions. Mendy at CF few mins back.
Quite funny.

Ederson was such an underrated buy.
Teams push up to stop them playing out, but he just kicks it long and catches them short of numbers. So simple, but only possible because he's got such a monstrous kick.

He did well with that not to rush it and then finished it very nicely.

Called Ederson getting an assist on the prediction thread. Glad to see it coming true two games in.

Last season people were hyping him so much to the point I'd say he is overrated lmao so nah he is rated by people, he is a basic GK with world class passes and long balls

Yeah. Choosing between him and Lucas Hernandez is going to be tough for Deschamps. Mendy is just immense.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part II
I don't think Ederson was heavily outperforming his xG conceded anyways, so from a shot stopping perspective he was pretty much saving what he should. However, he's a beast on the ball. I don't think I've ever see a goalie with his distribution range.
Also tbf he was replacing Bravo so any decent goalie would have been overhyped.

Heavily supporting United today. Need a De Gea clean sheet and a few goals from Lukaku. Please let it happen.

Depends on Deschamps plans. Does he want a more defensively assured LB who adds more security, or a flying LB who has immense quality in the final third. Do you think France will still play 4CB's in defense?

Mendy is too awful defensively to be playing for a Deschamps team, he was getting owned by *bleep* Bellerin last week . Hernandez is great in defence so I guess he will continue to prefer him.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part II
Mendy was the undisputed starter for France before getting injured... and would have likely started in the WC if he showed health in pre-WC friendlies.
My guess? Hernandez earned his spot in the WC. It's his to lose. I don't think he loses it.
And yes... france is going to continue to employ the same tactics other than Giroud getting benched methinks. Dembele is going to play LW and Mbappe CF. Didn't have enough time to try it in WC. But I think the time has come.
