I wouldn't be surprised to see Gattuso get sacked before the season ends to be honest but to fire him now and hire Conte two weeks before the season starts would be bizarre

Why would it be bizarre to install a proven top coach with a stunning win record over an unimpressive mediocre coach, who has not excelled and in all likelihood will not excel in the future, before the season starts? If Milan can get Conte they should get him a soon as possible

If the season started when Gattuso was appointed Milan would've been third. Now that they got the record holder for most goals in serie a they will definitely push Juve all the way.

Not so sure about that.

On paper, they're still like 5th best in the league. There's not much creativity in the middle, their wide options are inferior to atleast like 6-7 teams and is among the slowest in the league. Higuain will have a hard time carrying this team if they dont add a creative mid and a pacy wide player.

It would not be bizarre to replace Gattuso with Conte. It would be bizarre to do it two weeks before the season starts

And yet they would've been 3rd had the season started with when Gattuso was appointed. Milan are still in their banter era but I feel people are underestemating them. They have a young core with a coach who has a never die attitude. They created more chances then most teams last season. What they were missing was a finisher, and Juve just gave it to them like a charity. There's no doubt in my mind Milan will finish in the top 3.

You can't think about transitive property for football.
When a new coach comes into play, he takes enthusiasm, he shakes the team that causes a positive streak .. Such as Pioli under us. But this effect is destined to vanish if the coach is not   good. In fact Gattuso got negative streak , losing also against Benevento at home , after it. I' m sure they would have never got CL even under Gattuso at the beginning of season.
They can be considered for top 4 now   because they signed a great CF as Higuain but "not because of last year if Gattuso and not Montella"....
