Kudos to Bale and Benzema

Benz again scoring with head. I'm kinda concerned.
Need to see him put one with either foot. he needs to be a threat with his feet too.

When benzema ends the season with a decent haul of goals I'm a go with 30 or more, I wanna see what legs you guys have to stand on for the team short comings if there is any, cause benzema is the sole player responsible for a team sport, while other players like flopsco get a free pass cause he was so hyped and pulls off useless tricks glad you guys still as boring as ever.

besides, different responsibilities back then. not the same now.
he needs to be a threat with his feet as we need him and bale to take up the responsibility for goals left by CR7. not every game will he get a good cross in.

Not even during the Higgy-Benz wars did any of his goals slip my mind. But you know what hasn't: his 5 La Liga goals. Him scoring with his head is not only allowed but treasured because we need his ass to be scoring. A lot.

You've always had this odd pedestal for Benny which is fine, it's way more sane than Harmonica's love for Messi but him scoring with his head is more than fine.

thats because Benz is a type of player that will always make my ideal dream team. also, he is a proven CL player.
I notice you mention league goals. well, I never cared much for the league. CL is the biggest prize and that will always be what i want most from my club. The whole reason we signed Benzema in the first place was because of his performances in the CL were needed.

Benz has long since fulfilled his purpose here. I dont mind him leaving but as long as hes here, ill enjoy/rage his time with us.

In the meantime, Ive already mentioned the change in style and responsibility will see Benz scoring more often now. and judging from the last few games, Benz is proving to be an excellent aerial threat, showing off his targetman qualities, as expected of a former complete forward.

so I wouldnt worry too much about him scoring i would be more concerned with our midfield as Benz or Bale for that matter cant score if the midfield aint doing their job.

Having that said, not scoring goals doesn't automatically mean a player is bad.

Giroud scored 0 goals during World Cup and went scoreless for almost 1000 mins for France.

top 20 (from position 11 to 20) in this era for a CF isn't a compliment. its not like we are littered with that many elite CFs. and he isn't close to cavani. rather than the term 'underrated', i think the phrase you're looking for is 'he isn't as crap/garbage as made out to be'. definitely not underrated

Giroud isn't crap tbh... and I'm a big critic. Whenever he's not in there, the attack stops working for France and the defense gets worse. He holds up the ball very well, links up well and is also a presence both offensively and defensively in the air.

he also scored a screamer against the netherlands to win the game in the most recent NT games.

With Mbappe and Griezmann, we don't need a scorer at CF. That's actually not his role.

Yeah, pretty much think Giroud is not a particularly good footballer or CF. Not sure why his name is being brought up but whatever.

i didn't know where else to post this, whether the transfer thread or this, but i figure since much of this thread has focused on benzema, even though its the kudos to bale and benzema thread, i'd post a link to the article i read on here. fyi, it isn't an eye opener, its something we as madrid fans all know with regards to bale, but what are your thoughts on the long term approach to this bale project? and his insistence on taking on international duties, when he isn't fit ,yeah yeah i know he isn't playing, but the travel is unnecessary. just something to keep conversations going during the international break

Gee Tito, I was about to post the same article (from a different paper). There are two takeaways from this story.

First is Bale has his own interest in front of team interest and that he isn’t a leader.

Second is the injury prone Bale is back! Note the story is he is desperately afraid of injuring himself and thus doesn’t take risks on the field, which certainly will take something away from his game. And after asking to come off early in two games and missing trip to Russia, turns out he wasn’t injured after all!

So bottom line we started this thread after both Benzema and Bale started the season off well and a lot of us thought maybe we will be ok with the overly dependence on these two to lead this team (but we did ackowledge it was a risky approach). And now both of them have recerted to their old disasterous form!!

Bale has finally started to play the way he always should have with us this season though, why did it take so long? It seems non-nonsensical to me how managers sometimes get overrun by diva players, if i was manager i'd talk to the board of directors, to the players, or get fired before getting thrown around like a cuck ffs.

Every player should think of himself first over club, manager, etc.  In fact, the great ones do. That doesn't meant they don't care about the club... it means exactly what it says.

travelling with the national team, when you're allegedly not fit for a  meaningless friendly is not taking care of ones-self. i'd get it if it was a world cup qualifier. all that travel time and millage could have been spent recuperating. if you took yourself out the game because you felt pain, fine, i don't expect players to play through pain, even machines get burnt out. but to take the next flight with the expectation of playing a meaningless friendly, considering his man of glass condition, that baffles me. and when we here that he isn't going to play, he's still travelling with them and rushing himself back to fitness for ireland. guess what will happen by the time he gets back here, he'll break down again. his strategies have actually been the opposite of protecting himself.

Maybe he's doing that because, over many seasons, he kept getting injured by toughing it out. If I'm Bale, I change something... and that something is that he doesn't play through when he feels a twinge.

Given his history, I don't blame him at all. Maybe like this, he misses a week or two every two months as opposed to missing 2 months after playing 2 months.

@tito...  he's with Wales.  How far did he travel really.  And maybe (like all the French players), it's an opportunity to get a second medical opinion (mandatory medical checkups with NT) as opposed to asking for an official one (which could offend the Madrid medical staff).

I say this because I've heard there's politics with even medical care believe it or not.

You’re missing the point Sports. Bale has been a frustration to every coach he has had at Madrid, and especially this season when Flo has placed the team’s hopes on him and Benz.

With Benz returning to his ‘modern CF’ form and Bale now overly concerned about injuring himself, our season is all but done!

The end result will be Lopetequi gone and Bale and Benz replaced with Vinicius and Rodrygo!
