So Kluivert seems closer now. Monchi convinced him, Raiola and his dad that our project is better than Inter's. Terms agreed at 2m per year. We offered 15m to Ajax, but they're holding out for 30 while trying to get him to re-sign. Monchi won't go higher than 25 though.

Bryan Cristante seems to be nearly done too. Terms agreed with Atalanta with the fee reported to be 25m. We'll be paying cash + player on loan (Defrel) to reduce costs. Personal terms now being negotiated.

Hakim Ziyech is the other Ajax player that we're negotiating for though numbers haven't been released yet. They're a lot more likely to release him than Kluivert.

25mil seems too much for a kid from Dutch League IMO.

Meh, Monchi will probably talk them down from that or we'll just move on from him and focus on Ziyech.

yeah, I know the market exploded the last couple seasons but it wasn't that long ago we bought Depay who was much better established I think, than, Kluivert, for about 20m or it may have been 25 with add-ons. So 15 or so would seem right for this kid. Maybe with a sell-on % if he becomes amazing,

We really need harsher punishments than that for these teams that break FFP.

It should also carry over to the first time you qualify for CL, because if you're breaking FFP, the chances are you don't give a shit about the EL anyway.

Asking price for Kluivert is not so much about the crazy market, I think it's more a statement that you can't force a cheap move against the will of the club.

But if Roma are willing to pay up to 25m I do expect it to go through.

Sounds to me like it's more about keeping him for another season so they can sell him at a higher price than he's worth now, providing he remains a consistent performer next season.

His contract runs out next year.
If we don't sell him and he doesn't sign a new contract he won't play next season.

He won't play if he stays and doesn't sign a new contract.
I do expect us to sell him (though not for 15m).
