Our standard CL QF exist was mainly due to Disneymar. We crashed out in the quarters in 3 of his 4 years at Barca. We also made it tight in the league with Disneymar. Before him we walked it with 100 points and after him we're again walking it in unprecedented fashion, 14 points ahead of Madrid, and that with our marquee signing injured the whole time 'til now.
With the added creativity of Dempélé and Coutinho and the 4-dimensional footballing mind of Valverdad we will dominate for 10 straight years, especially now that Madrid are *bleep* with Ronaldo's decline and luck running out.
Pls deal with.
Stahp with the terrible nicknames, you sound like a curated Harmonica.
Yeah lets pretend Neymar didn't single handedly drag your ass past PSG in one of the best comebacks ever.
Or that Luis Suarez is looking like Maxi Lopez this season
Revising history is fun
Single-handedly.
Messi running through the entire Madrid team from midfield is single-handedly. Neymar scoring a penalty that someone else won and lumping a free-kick into the box with Roberto executing a hard outside of the foot finish is a lot of hot air.

Re: Coutinho to Barca
I dont like this.... another hugely expensive buy in such a short time... havent watched him enough, but I just dont get the confident feeling hes going to be all that for us?
Would have preferred Griezmann.
Position wise though, I dont ever think we would put him in midfield 3, that would be too imbalanced, so no idea how hes going to fit.

Coutinho has great potential and I believe around Messi/Busquets he will significantly improve. It's not a bad transfer, if the rumours are true. The price tag doesn't matter, Liverpool just spent a 100 on a CB.

The fact you consider Coutinho creative futbol means you'll be disappointed in him imo.
He's not good at creating for others, he's good at creating for himself. That's a key distinction which is quite important in terms of his potential success.

I don't think Coutinho is a generational talent or anything and I was always against this signing 2 years ago when alex in the Barca section was hyping him up but he's certainly a young world class attacking midfielder who can dribble, create and score at a great level. He doesn't have to be Xavi. We're a different team now anyway and in 4-4-2 on the left side he would be immense. Also it's a myth that he's just a long-shot merchant. He creates reasonably well. I've watched him closer since we are linked with him.
Something like € 140 million + bonuses (easy bonuses like 50 appearances in a Barca shirt + CL qualification) would be ridiculous though. Just because Marketingmar bought himself out with the aid of state-backed oil money and English clubs make stupid deals doesn't mean we have to compete with that (we already did with "5 goals a season in Bundesliga Dembélé", but whatever).
€ 120 million without bonuses, take it or leave it. Maybe PSG will come next summer and bid € 200 million, then fair play to Liverpool.

About Coutinho. Barcelona will soon make an offer of €110+40. Chairman Bartomeu feels in debt to him for how hard he's trying to go to FCB. Their top players want him. LFC have changed their tone but have not put price to him. They will act when offer arrives. Which it will

Re: Coutinho to Barca
as a Real Madrid fan, i like the move (if its true, i trust very little football media outlets if any these days). my liking the move has nothing to do with his football or anything like that. but from a madrid standpoint, we're miles behind in the standings, dembele will be returning, now coutinho, and they still have messi
the last thing that should be on flo's mind is hoping bbc encounters a miracle, and stays on forever. i understand in january we probably cannot get any of our targets, but flo should better not let anyone talk him into signing some scrub striker from mallorca during the summer, and telling him the squad is fine. we absolutely need talent in the summer (we need now, but we shot ourselves in the foot on this one)
hopefully this pushes flo to want to challenge and provide us with top talent, not scrubs as back ups nor wet behind the ears spanish "talent"

You've clearly not watched him at all under Klopp lmao
He's actually finally become consistent.
You can go through all my posts, I would of said of told you to sell a couple of years ago for around 50m. Wouldn't sell him at 150 now. He's instrumental to how we play and he's grown into a mature player.
180+ or *bleep* off. He's way too valuable for us to lose, and I'm sick of clubs bending over to this *bleep* club after their pathetic attempts to sign players.

110 for Dembele and 150 for Coutinho while smashing Madrid and winning the league in december.
Flo is gonna go hard this summer.

I can't figure it out yet. Disregard the price but do people actually rate Coutinho as one of the best players in his position or what. I don't watch Liverpool enough to know.

The truth has been spoken. We can't compete in this market as far as I'm concerned. Looking at supposedly our best XI, the one that destroyed Jjuve in Cardiff, were all brought in before 2014.
Navas 10m in 2014
Carvajal 5m in 2013
Varane 10m in 2011
Marcelo 5m in 2006
Modric 30m in 2012
Casemiro 5m in 2013
Kroos 25m in 2014
Isco 30m in 2013
CR 95m in 2009
Benzema 35m in 2009
No player bought from 2014 onwards. Imagine getting generational midfielders for combined 55m. And people suddenly think we'll just splash 400-500m on 2 or 3 world class attackers. We are yet to enter this current market for world class players. To be fair, until last summer we didn't need too, but I don't think with the reported budget of 200m we can do much

Re: Coutinho to Barca
Yeah, that's not true
Sold Di Maria for a nice profit, did the same with Morata, bought James for 60M in 2014 alone.
And you won the CL in the 3 of the last what, 5 seasons? Do you know how much revenue that generates?
You can absolutely compete. Just because you rather choose not to and remain loyal to a team that has accomplished more than anyone in that same span, doesn't mean you can't compete in the market

Coutinho is a great player, Mole been hating since the early days but he's turned into one of the best AM's in the world. That he's stayed with Pool this long is shocking but also ab amazing display of loyalty
Can't wait to see him in a Barca shirt the (still think Eriksen is better tho)

Liverpool should just sell coutinho to Barca and get it over and done with. But they should quote them a price that will make them shit.

Re: Coutinho to Barca
What am I missing here. Why go after a player in January that is CL tied? They haven't yet integrated their last big purchase into team, why try a second in same time frame especially when he can only play in half the games and the other competition is already secured!
I don't understand why do it now as opposed to next June!
