Happy Birthday, Julian Nagelsmann
The Hoffenheim coach turns 30 today

Since he has no thread so far, we might as well make this one his apprecion thread.
Because obviously, the most immediately striking and eye catching thing about this great coach is his unreal young age.
He became Hoffenheim's coach one and a half years ago, at the age of 28, as the youngest regular (not interim) first team manager in Bundesliga history.
In this perid of 18 months, he has taken a relegation candidate into CL qualification.
Being from the vicinity of Munich, he is of course hotly tipped to become Bayern manager in the future.

Re: Happy Birthday, Julian Nagelsmann
Nagelsmann is 32 by now

He's also, after his years of sheer miracle work at Hoffenheim, the new coach of RB Leipzig, having considerable more financial muscle than Rangnick's former project.
He's also sitting atop Bundesliga with 3 wins in 3 games.
Today he has the chance to cement top spot with a win over stumbling Bayern, and make a first strong statement of intent at his new club.
He's arguably the most exciting young coach there is. Let's see how he does tonight.

Re: Happy Birthday, Julian Nagelsmann
Nagelsmann is clearly an elite manager, the next Klopp
main problem with him is the way he looks is such a disaster

Re: Happy Birthday, Julian Nagelsmann
lol, when I saw him in his vest and tie for UCl match, I was reminded of time Klopp was wearing a suit for a UCL game and bit the head off of a linesman.
What makes it even funnier, is that he was wearing a Kanadian lumberjack shirt for the game vs Bayern just a few days earlier.

Lol my wardrobe is 50% things my parents bought for me as a teenager... the other 50% is the clothes of my deceased grandfather.
So imo Nagelsmann makes a great effort
If you have decent look (it's his case) the fashion is not important at all

Managers aside, the Red Bull talent scouting department seems to be incredibly well organized!

Nagelsmann is the Truth
At 33, he's already one of the best coaches in the world, and he'll probably cement his place as number one within the next decade.
His underdog run in the CL is more impressive than the runs of Dortmund, Atletico, Monaco, and Ajax which occurred in the last 7 years.
The difference?
His team has very little individual quality. Aside from Upamecano nobody is going to get a big transfer move. At least those sides were filled with young, exciting players. RB on the other hand not so much.
I'm not surprised though. He had Hoffenheim in the CL despite having division 2 quality players. The fact he's able to have his teams play good football while over achieving based on his resources makes him a great coach.
I felt the RB move was a bit of a sideways step for him when it was announced. However, regardless of the result against PSG it won't be long until we see him as the coach of a top European club.

It's a shame Timo wasnt there, but I loved Leipzig's setup, attitude and collective performance. Very deserved and impressive win, it's like they were CL veterans
