I know frenzy thinks I'm trolling but I'm really not. ajax are either a very poor team or they are having a very bad day.

Right. That was a sub-par first half. For Utd, having a 1-0 lead is worth its weight in gold and was the very best thing to happen. If they weren't gonna attack before, they are definitely gonna PTB. And since Ajax seem to be not incline to do any sort of meaningful final 3rd attacking, it's essentially Ez Pz stuff.

That being said, Ajax are passing well (enough) and look like they can actually build up to a goal but it just looks so far.

Mkhitaryan poor once again. Lad needs to really improve next season or he will be off. And Mata doing really well even after being out for like a month.

I'll be shocked if we keep a clean sheet, even if Ajax didn't look a danger in the first half. This is the team thaat have bene scoring for fun in the tournament? I know we have an amazing defense this season but still.

I agree with @Doc. Mourinho will instruct his players to basically sleep in the box now in the 2nd half. And the fact that we have Smalling and Blind in defense doesnt ooze any confidence at all. That Traore lad just walked past them once. More PTB means more chances of such darts.

Honestly, they aren't getting any real clear sight of Romero due to Utd stifling their attacking threats really well. Essentially, Utd are 4-5-1 while defending with Feli dropping in midfield. It's working very well and making Ajax look lame.

If Ajax were playing someone like, as Firenze said, Liverpool, it would have looked really different.

Man, it was like watching an under 21 side play a senior team. The difference in everything was clear. That being said, I honestly liked Utd's approach. Absolutely dull and lacking every ounce of footballing imagination but I can't help admire the effectiveness of it all.

I am really looking forward to seeing this Utd in the UCL. No under 21 side there I reckon so we'll see how good Mourinho and the lads really are. Congrats Utd, job really well done.

We were very effective and clinical for once, but Ajax were poor. I expected more from them tbh. Had nothing at all in the final third.

Ah well. Supercup should be something to look forward to and of course CL next season.
