Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
I mean, they should be doing better than they are, fantastic manager when things are going well but seems too timid to be able to turn the ship around when times are tough. I can understand it. Hope they get relegated now though.
Odd timing though, were they expecting him to win vs Sevilla?
Ranieri to Arsenal IMO

Odd timing indeed. Should have seen what happens in the 2nd leg.

Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
That's some crazy shit.
But I do believe it was exactly the right thing to do at the right time.
The state of the team is pathetic and he needed to go.

Nah they could easily go down.
The ship is sinking and the captain doesn't seem capable of keeping it afloat.
Honestly they should have made this decision a while ago.

Yeah ok if they sack league winning lovable grandpa Ranieri to hire Pardew they deserve to be relegated, tortured, mutilated and have their families murdered too

Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
I imagine they'll have no problem attracting a 'top' foreign coach tbh.
Can see Mancini making his triumphant return to the GOAT league
he played for Leicester too

Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
Tbf, Players massively let down Ranieri time and time again. Although his transfers were a bit shit.
No idea why he thought Wes Morgan, Danny *bleep* simpson and Robert Huth will continue with their fake form.
Ndidi flopped too. Failed to replace Kante properly.

Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
That maybe the case but good managers doesn't allow things like this to happen regardless if the players let him down or not.

There may be forces at play that are beyond any manager's control.
I could imagine if something so freaky happens like a relegation team like Leicester winning the world's most prominent league in a perfect storm season, it does things to the heads we can neither imagine nor judge.

Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
Their transfers were odd. Why did they have to buy Slimani AND Musa when Vardy stayed? Kante's direct replacement Mendy being out for months was unlucky but then again its pretty stupid they did not invest in defence and midfield.

Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
Mentioned this before, but Ranieri was always going to be screwed this season. Their title win was such a big thing that the majority of their squad would lose their motivation and hunger. Subconsciously the whole team is putting in less effort than they did last year and the top guys Mahrez and Vardy can't replicate what they produced last season.
Expectations are screwed as well. Before the title win Leicester fans were happy with staying up. After the title win it's not good enough. Realistically though their squad hasn't changed a great deal in these three years and the players were likely to return to their previous form. Not sure what their board was expecting this season.
So if Ranieri is at fault for anything it's not forseeing a drop off and planning for it.

I don't believe this mainly because Ranieri has a history of being incapable of turning things around when it all goes to shit.
He's very Pardew like in that sense, big runs when on top but big losing streaks when it goes badly and incapable of stopping the slide.
Ironic that Pardew is a bookies fave lol.

Perfectly put.
I'm not even sure you can really plan for something like that.

Re: Leicester have sacked Claudio Ranieri
the lack of improving on their defense was definitely crazy
anyone could see the likes of Morgan, Huth and Simpson were having a once in a lifetime season and would revert to being shite
Fuchs is the only player that has any business starting for a club with aspirations of a top 10 finish in PL lol

if Pardew takes over Leicester deserve to be relegated and not even get a sniff of premier league action for at least the next 3 generations of the owners family
would be utter madness

I'd like to see either Mancini or Martinez tbh, doubt the latter would leave Belgium
imagine a return of Rodgers too?
