After the calamity against Alaves hopefully we won't be gifting chances left and right to Legia. Having Nacho in there will hopefully calm everyone in the back line down abit. -James and Marcelo have been left behind in Madrid. Surprised about James since he played no part in the Alaves game but apparently he felt a slight twinge so this is precautionary more than anything else. Marcelo has been rested
-Modric is nearing recovery. He is targeting the Leganes game next week or the internationals right after
-Carvajal is back after being given rest against Alaves

I am starting to think that finishing second would probably give us an easier path than if we finished first. Weird i know but we could potentially play any of Bayern, City, or Juve if we finished first whereas the hardest game we'd play if we finished second would be either of PSG or Arsenal. Is this the year easy R16 draws finally catches up to us

Na it is a 4-4-2. Morata has proven to be the better winger compared to Ronaldo and they end up swapping positions during games.

I'll hazard a guess that Ronaldo starts out the game on the wing and gradually he takes up a striker position and Morata switches to being a winger

Yeah Morata can do that. Did it with Mandzukic and Cuadrado in a front 3 for us.

Tbh even when Ronaldo was unavailable Morata would go out on the left and run at players instead of playing like a true number 9. Perhaps why it'd be so predictable to see him swap with Ronaldo during the game

never thought about this, but the competition is still in its middle stage as far as the groups are concerned. some teams could still shift positions. and i'm sure some sides are saying to themselves that they don't want to meet us that early either, so the next fixtures will be crucial for everyone across the board. i like finishing first because i prefer us playing the second leg at home

He did it again but this time it fell to Ronaldo and we know what happens then. This attack is too dysfunctional, all of them are refusing to play on the left. Bale is the only attacker that has been good.

At this rate, I am going say it looks pretty damn evident that these guys don't care about any cleansheets. I mean they were practically invitinh that Legia guy to get closer and get a shot in.

It's not that they don't want clean sheet. They just can't do that playing 424. When kroos was drawn to wings Kovacic was left alone in the middle.

We should've approached this game thinking of it as a golden opportunity to match and get past Dortmund's goal difference. Instead, we're struggling to even beat Legia on the same ground that Dortmund smashed them 0-6.
