Celebrating 20 years of Arsene
Unveiled on September 22, officially took over on October 1 1996, so we're thereabouts: congratulations to Arsene Wenger for the amazing feat of being in charge of Arsenal for 20 frigging years
Really doubt we'll see anything similar at a top club in our lifetime as we've seen with him and Ferguson.
And what better way to celebrate those years than winning your big London derby 3 - 0!
In be4 they lose to Burnley next week.
Anyway, well in, Arsene, you charming bugger. Stay crazy, zipperman.

I think now would be a great moment to publicly announce that 2 year extension

I wouldn't be surprised if his lawyer had meeting with board at half time.

Re: Celebrating 20 years of Arsene
Thanks for this Art.
This is probably the last time a manager goes 20 years incharge of a club in the top flight. We'll probably never see something like this again.
I have always remembered Arsene as the Arsenal manager and there are many many out there who were born after he took charge of Arsenal. For me he is the greatest thing to ever happen to Arsenal. PL and not just Arsenal will miss him when he is gone.
Obviously he hasn't won a lot in the last 10 years and isn't regarded as a top manager when it comes to winning things recently but tbh what he has done for Arsenal negates that for us Arsenal fans. He has always been unsackable and he will retire with grace at the end of this season.
As I posted this in the Arsenal section
"If Wenger is a failure for always finishing inside the top four, that's nowhere near as big a failure as other so-called big clubs. Everton haven't won a trophy since 1995, Liverpool haven't won a title since 1990 and Tottenham since the early 1960s.
Every other club - Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City - have spent time outside the Champions League. Arsenal haven't under Wenger."

Re: Celebrating 20 years of Arsene
And his 20th season is textbook Mr. Venga again.
Starts slow but Arsenal are right back as the main contender for the top 4.
It's an unbelievable achievement to do it for 20 years. Absolutely incredible consistency.

Legend. Say what you want about him but consistently keeping Arsenal in the top 4 is an incredible feat.

Sorry to spoil the party, but Wenger has been ordinary for 10 years though?

Did someone deny that?
He's still done more for Arsenal and the PL, despite not winning anything significant in a decade.

Re: Celebrating 20 years of Arsene
That actually shows how much you know of Wenger, PL, BuLi, and Leverkusen.

Re: Celebrating 20 years of Arsene
Everyone in the PL has slipped up more than once finishing below the top 4 but not Wenger. Teams like Chelsea, Spurs and City who've come to be noticed after 2004, Wenger had managed an invincible season before that.
More likable manager than Fergie, Second best manager in the PL I've seen.
The amount of shit Arsenal fans give him, Arsenal fans have no idea what change is, They are going to realize very soon.

It is fear of change that has many people arguning that Wenger is indispensable. At some point, we have to look for a successor. At some point, we have to move on. He's close to 67 now. I personally think this should be his last season, no matter what.
