David Silva has been such a fine player but there's been something missing in his career. I would say it's the big moment(s). He spent the WC 2010 victory on bench. Was a steady performer in three Euros but rarely spectacular. His best has probably come in some league games for ManCity, even a few of the big games, but what he now needs to do is really show himself in UCL and then maybe in WC 2018 as well.
Re: THE Manchester Derby 16/17
Silva has always been wildly inconsistent, i give him crap for it because nobody else seems to
He would be great for a few games and then go missing for just as many if not more games.
I would expect and hope that if anyone's performance jumps under Pep it would be him, as quite frankly if you a technical and creative playmaker and you don't find success under Pep then there's a problem lol.

If people actually watched him the last 4 years in Serie Zzzz they would know this statement to be 100% factual, although I would disagree on the lack of play making skills.
Pogba has lots of talent but is not a player that can do it all himself ala Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar. He needs to play in a system that suits his style and needs good players around him to succeed. Having Pirlo and Vidal and Marchisio around him made Pogba a better player. Having Fellaini as his double pivot partner will absolutely ruin him.

Pogba, Rashford and Martial are under the wrong manager. They needed Pep.

Rashford and Martial yeah, not sure Pogba would be that successful under Guardiola though.

Rashford will be very successful no doubt. The moment he leaves Mou he'll shine.

Missed the game because I had a meeting to attend...
Happy with the result but also not suprised. Pep is a better manager than Mourinho.
Can't see Man City not winning the leauge.

A Mourinho team where the midfield gets bypassed? I wonder where I have seen that before..

Re: THE Manchester Derby 16/17
I have a question regarding this thread:
Is there another 'Manchester Derby'. Or just this one, between Utd and City?

Re: THE Manchester Derby 16/17
Depends on how loose you want to apply the Manchester part.
FC United of Manchester vs Manchester United/City would be a Manchester derby.
If you extend it to Greater Manchester then you could throw in teams like Wigan and Bolton.
But when people say Manchester derby they're only really referring to City vs United.

Re: THE Manchester Derby 16/17
On redcafe this was an interesting analogy describing Pep and Mou
Honestly, Pep is a greater manager than José.
To me José tries to float a boat as fast as he can by getting some fine wood. When constructing the boat he just want it to be solid enough to get through the ocean. Problems will be solved along the way as he's got enough fine wood to repair eventual damage that may occur. No need to go through every single detail. The crew knows enough to finish the route.
Pep on the other hand will take his time going through every detail. He won't sail before he knows the boat is safe enough. Once he's out there at sea you'll know it's in a solid boat with a well equipped crew. He's able to stay out at sea for a long time and go from harbor to harbor.
That's my Iniesta view on it.

He's on course to be 3rd all time Goal Scorer for Spain, surpassing Fernando Torres at 38 goal
He's always performed well for Spain while playing on the wing.
