I don't think Newcastle are at all in danger of not coming back up.

The biggest test for Rafa will be once they are back in PL, and not even the first season back. The first season back is about adjusting again in PL and not getting relegated right back. The biggest pressure would be the second season back in PL where Newcastle, you would imagine, hope to at the very least get to West Ham/Southampton level of last season. So fighting for 5th-7th. And beyond that getting back to their 11-12 level where they challenged top 4.

Spurs have actually tried doing good business and the deals for Janssen and Wanyama were good deals and necessary ones, I think. N'Koudou to come too. Still, the team is too thin for my liking and relying on N'Koudou to come in and make an impact, Winks, Onomah and other youth to do the same as opposed to even the likes of Mason and Chadli...foolish for a team now in the CL.

Looks like Spurs is more interested in keeping a balanced budget for the stadium than pushing on and splashing cash. For the best? Perhaps. I could see the team getting burnt out though.

Saw something enlightening--this is essentially Yedlin + Townsend + 13 million Proud

(Having sold both to Newcastle). Still an awful deal but more like having Newcastle ship off Spurs deadweight and take 13m for Sissoko.

Thinking about it that way is not so bad tbh.

I'm going to go back to calling him the French Dinho then. Incredible player, wanted him for Barca tbh
