Possibly, yeah.

I'm still waiting for the press conference - the subtitles in the news and documentation channel N24 say it is delayed a little. I guess they are still waiting for Bavaria's Minister of internal affairs who is supposed to show up at the presser.

This guy was another Syrian refugee. Tried to get into the festival but was turned away. Imagine if he got in how many people would have died.

Refugees in Germany seem to be going nuts now.

Now the newsticker reports that Bavaria's minister of the interior Herrmann stated that the śuspect was a 27 year old man from Syria who came to Germany 2 years ago as a refugee, but whose application for asylum was denied. He already tried twice to commit suicide so far and was treated for his mental problems in a mental hospital.

So far it is not known whether his attack was "just" another suicide attempt or if there was an Islamist terrorist background.

There was nothing about him not being allowed to get into the festival on N24 so far. Please refer to my above post for the official statement of Bavaria's minister of the interior for the facts.

Well, if he already committed two suicide attempts before and was treated in a mental hospital, it appears to me that he was highly unstable. I just wonder why he was allowed outside again in that case.

BTW 12 persons reported injured now.

Here's a German language newsticker:

http://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/article157265491/Tatverdaechtiger-stirbt-nach-Sprengstoff-Attentat-in-Ansbach.html

They write now, too, that he wanted to get into the Open Air festival, but he was turned away as he had no ticket. I guess this saved a lot of lives then.

I guess the real problem was the Middle East policy of certain big Western countries who dabbled in the politics of the Middle Eastern states to make sure they would keep their access to cheap oil, but thus totally destabilised their societies.

After all, the Taliban originally were supported by the USA and Saudi and Pakistani secret services - but within a few years things got totally out of hand and like the Sorcerer's Apprentice they had to realise the spirits that they called would now not go away anymore...

I think he means to say the world going to shit has reached western civilians on home soil for the first time since WWII.

So, within a week in Germany there's been a shooting spree, an axe attack, a machete attack and a bombing. All done by people with North African or Middle Eastern background. Yeah, it's definitely a good idea to take more of them in.

Right, because people of other backgrounds haven't killed other people with axes, machetes, or bombs. There are homicides every day and being a psychopath is not exclusive to race.

I'm done. I'm so done with this *bleep* section. Honestly, talk all you want. I cant reason with you so why bother. Xenophobia and racism is a disease for you that can't be cured. Hopefully you get some pussy in the future

And I know the majority of the board shares my opinion, so for Christs sake, shut these guys up.

First of all, "North African or Middle Eastern background" describes a huge chunk of the world's population, so it's really not a useful term to describe many different people as some kind of homogeneous entity.

Secondly, while I will never agree with your conclusions of letting millions of people die in war zones because of perceived risks, I don't even agree with you on the premises. Yes there were three attacks with people of middle eastern or North African background. But the Munich killing spree was like a 100% repeat of Winnenden, where it was a kid so German he would've made old Adi Schicklgruber himself proud.

They were also all men, doesn't mean we should ban all males. They also where all under 30, doesn't mean all youth are suspicious. The thing they really have in common is that they were evil, mental criminals - that's the only common denominator we should use to select who gets punished in any way.

Your xenophobia is out of bounds. Just imagine yourself fleeing from war and terror, and then being turned away. You can't blame the many for the (very) few.

It’s happened very close to where my sister live, shit.
Anyway the situation is bad, also for the amount of jackals to wallow on it , taking the game to isis that aims on islamist segregation to expand its consent.  It’s not a mystery that the Isis propaganda can get a greater appeal on who has the mental weakness, and the identity of the aggressor testifies it too.
on the real battlefield,  the State of Isis  is reduced like the Third Reich  in 1945 , but it keeps still a great media power and so it gave   the green light to their various lone wolves  on European territory and atm these lone wolves look like  uncontrollable  unfortunately. These represent the extreme difensive actions acted by Isis.

Frankly,   munchen has nothing to do with a “middle Eastern background” . it’s the  typical case of ‘ copycate crime’ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copycat_crime. We live in a period of massive confusion linked to great echo due to gunfire / explosions in a group, and these are copied from single   to achieve the same echo for his own actions.
But basically, talking for my country Italy, here daily we have violent crimes (also made by foreigners), but noone connects them to acts of terrorism,  simply because  they don’t have nothing to do with the terrorist aspect Same was was for Munchen.

About the refugee who    got exploded himself ,of course it’s different. It’s the basis of isis strategy.
It consists on creating a false illusion of hope based on a false dichotomy of "us vs. them  , so as to get an ( empty ) sense of belonging towards something greater than them , through  the adherence to the "religious"  ideals    who try to bring forward.
The segregation , the intollerance, the racism towards the Islamists and Middle East/North African ppl is , however, the main factor to develop the ISIS, because it can push most segregated ppl to embrace the street of terrorism , always following the dichotomy of “ us vs them”.
For this  reason I talked about  the dangers represented by amount of jackals to wallow on it, and it’s not a casual reference if I think we ‘ ll have the presidential elections in Austria, exactly close   Germany, with the FPO ( extreme right wing ) ready  to close  borders and every sort of assistance towards the refugees.

What I find rich is that there are voices from the US (Trump accrding to German media, I haven't seen a direct quote yet though) saying that it is all Germany's fault as we took in the refugees.

No single word that it was originally the US who were responsible for destabilising the region so much that so many people had to flee. But of course they are nicely far away and don't have to cope with those refugees whom a human with compassion can't rightfully turn down.

After all, no person in his or her right mind would take up a several thousand kilometres odyssey without their belongings and carrying along little and bigger children to find safety somewhere. That there can be bad apples among them - it is the same with every population. But this cannot be the reason to turn down the most vulnerable who have virtually nothing anymore.

After WWII, there were millions of Germans on the flight, too, and if they wouldn't have gotten help, they would not have survived either. My grandma told me of her ordeals when she fled many thousand kilometres from Berlin through Silesia and Poland until they found a place back in Germany - incidentally in Ansbach! (My father was very shocked as he lived in Ansbach for many years after they settled down there some years after the war).

Oh, and by the way, if I look at things cynical, one could say that the ISIS related culprits were comparatively ineffective as the big death these days toll was actually caused by a deranged kid and a guy who snapped over an argument.

There seems to be something about living on an island that makes it really easy to be a disconnected dick.

Johnson - Trump; it's easy to pretend the world doesn't exist when all you see at the edge of your country is nice, clean ocean.
No wonder Trump can't mentally cope with the concept of Mexico. A border, to a country with real problems? Doesn't compute to a mental midget like that.

The matter of Heimatvertriebene no ?
I studied the whole history of postwar Germany for University thesis.
Actually it's a good example of past atrocity that should serve as lesson for the present.
But men usually don't learn from past, and the same Austria is a current example of it.

I think while Germany as a whole can be just as cynical as any country, there are at least some mechanisms in place that show that some time ago, some people learned a bit from the past. Hence our very generous laws concerning people seeking political asylum, or war refugees.

Surely Germany is a positive example for it , I believe a good number of Italian that try the exonerate some thing made by fascism should take example from Germans. It took time to face  the atrocist  past, because it was a taboo subject until 60's,  but then it worked.
The matter of refugees show how much is changed the country, and  it is the same for Italy that is exposed , for geographic issue,to landings from Africa every day but noone never thought to refused them , unlike of countries like Malta or even the socialist Zapatero.... in our case the fascism burned us so much that we accept a subordinate role almost as a matter moral, both NATO and EU.

About Germany, I think the vergangenheitsbewältigung worked expecially in the West , because the DDR never faced the  problem not being (nay, they said so ) heir of the Third Reich , and infact imo ( but I leave the question to Germans, surely more informed than me about it ) it's a bit worrying the growth of neonazi cells exactly where there was the DDR.
And it is a process that were having every state that had a communist regime.

Hungary - for contining the matter of Eastern refugees - is governed by Orban , that is even the moderat expression of that country (and that's enough). Because the alternative are the Jobbik ( the neonazi party ) who get the 20 % . Dreadful.
