Despite what Rafa Benitez says or Newcastle.... every top level player has a clause where they have a buyout if their team falls out of the top division. Now, I'm sure Sissoko wants to do Newcastle a solid and allow them to get the best price possible out of Real Madrid. But if Newcastle play hardball, he'll just trigger the buyout, pay it himself and then have Madrid reimburse him.

If Sissoko doesn't have this standard (and I mean beyond standard) provision, his agent/lawyer needs to get fired yesterday. But I doubt he doesn't. More likely, they've agreed on a fee that, if a club is willing to pay, Newcastle will accept. It only becomes relevant if things get ugly.

He signed for us 3 years ago, the only people who might have clauses at the club will be players who joined in January when it looked like we were going down.

No one at the club has a release clause outside of the ones who joined in January and even then it's a question mark because nothing has been reported outside of Townsend who is already gone due to said clause.

Wijnaldum didn't have a clause for example and he joined last summer, if he had a release clause we wouldn't be publically saying that he won't go until we get an offer we deem appropriate.

It's hard to believe the interest between Real Madrid and Sissoko when it's exclusively coming from british medias. Cadena Ser journos are saying it's bollocks. But at this point i am not sure there are many players we could sign that could make me think that we had a good mercato. Underwhelming as well, and we are going to get banned for almost two years. I dont mind the vote of confidence in youngsters but few things could have been done better. And we dont even need that many adjustmnets

Pretty sure i have seen some spanish media mentioning it, not sure the names of them but seen a few in last few days.

It's mainly AS, but whenever they talk about it, they quote English medias.

To me it's like AS reporting that Madrid is after Verratti and then he renews, and they print that Madrid missed another target. There are no truth to what they are printing but who can stop them?
