Looking for an online payment system

Basically i'm looking for a service that would allow a client access to certain files/documents for download after they make payment. Not sure what to look for

does it have to be automatic?
you can password protect uploads til they have paid and then give them the password

Only system i can think of is that you upload a document and password protect it till someone pays you then you give them the pass.
