GTA: Online

Ffs this is gonna be amazing if it's even half as good as the main game is.


I've made it its own thread purely because similar to FIFA 13 Pro clubs it would take up a majority of the conversation if it was in the same thread and would be filled with pages of people telling others to come online etc etc.

So for GTA Online discussion/telling people to come online, let's use this thread to keep it tidy and easy to find.


The Social club website is being overloaded I think, due to it preparing for GTA Online. When it's sorted i'll link you all to my Crew. And you're free to join it.

You can get the jacket from Drive from a specific clothing store btw, heard you can get all clothes from the main game online too

From what I've read it sounds weird, like you can choose 2 characters from a bunch of GTA games as your 'parents' and depending on the two you choose it influences your characters appearance/stats or something. Then you make your background and hobbies which further influences base stats. You can apparently do everything you can do in the single player campaign online and more.

Rumour is that GTA Online will actually be 32 players not 16

Missions and Activities

Missions in GTA Online will come in many forms. There will be the typical missions involving meeting up with friends at a specific location to accomplish the goal of the mission. There will also be some more interesting missions, including those created by the community. A creator tool will be implemented, with more features promised than the ones that will be offered at launch, to construct your own missions for others to accomplish.

Players will be able to participate in numerous activities while playing GTA Online. These include going to a country club to play Tennis and Golf, get tattoos done, and doing Yoga.

Things You Can Do in GTA Online

Here are just a few of the many things confirmed for GTA Online.

Create a customized character
Develop a backstory for your character
Backstory determines starting location
Join a crew
Rob a convenience store with a friend
Customize a mask for GTA Online
Yell into a controller microphone to make a hold up go faster
Freely divide up money after a heist
A mission called Titan Steal has you stealing the Titan cargo plane
Fly with your friends in an airplane
Race anyone, anywhere, anytime by dropping a marker
Play multiplayer Golf or Tennis
Play a 4-player Golf game
Purchase a safehouse
Purchase Vehicle Insurance (Source: Achievement/Trophy List)
Watch TV with your friends
Watch Weasel News helicopter footage of your friends doing things
Smoke pot with your friends in your safehouse
Shower to wash off blood
Use an ATM to deposit money
Steal your friends' undeposited money
Play a "deathmatch" game
Design a "deathmatch" game
Go to a Strip Club
Watch a movie and comment on it as a group with friends
Vote on mission playlists
Play 500 pre-made missions, more will be added

It's not that bad tbh, rockstar are basically saying you can get everything there is without spending real money, and the economy is still balanced around those who won't spend any real money.

it's basically a boost for impatient people. But personally I won't spend anything. Part of the fun is earning money from missions and bank heists etc. It doesn't sound too fun robbing 200 grand from a bank when you went and bought yourself 5 million pounds.

Defeats the point imo. It's like buying Super Mario World and downloading a cheat to put you in the last string of levels.

Also, here's something that made me cry tears of joy ffs.


Rockstar confirmed that all of the updates will be free, and additional info will be coming “as our plans develop through the launch period, and as we get feedback from you.”


Expansions will be free.

You have to buy a high-end apartment with a planning room before you can start the big heists apparently. Also you can put your group emblem on your vehicles, Tom, that means you need to revamp our mess of an emblem
