Why is Alves leaving Barca

Thought I would post this here apart from post I made in the Barca section, for those that appreciate Alves (I know he has some haters) u can go there No need to mention just how good and important he has been for us, I just love the guy, so really sad to see him leave.

But here Im more hoping to see if anyone would know why Alves would want to leave Barca? The best club and hes still go it and to be first choice for us. I just dont understand the thinking. There must be some conflict with him and the Barca management or something. He appears to be ok with Enrique anyway.

Barca didn't extend him the last 2 summers and he was upset about it. Wanted to leave earlier but Barca refused to sell him. Feels he missed out on a bigger contract...

Ok, that would mean the doesnt value him enough or that he expects even more than he earns.... hence the conflict. Its so strange though, hes clearly been so vital to us, ever since he joined together, our successful era began.... I know that If many of us fans were the management we would do all we can to keep him, including giving his pay raise...

You know when you built that great team on FM and win everything then move to a second division team to the astonishment of the game's journalists ? same thing

We can't possibly know the real reason, we can just speculate at this point.

1. It could be that everything is fine with the club and he just wanted a new challenge.

2. The club didn't value him enough.

3. He wanted to leave on a high note before he declines.

Considering his sensitive character he is jealous of MSN taking all the attention.Same with Xavi who hated neymar. But Iniesta accepted second fidle role. Its hard to accept new comers taking all the attention and contracts while legends stay in shadow

He should leave asap to where he'll find happiness. Your happiness is first priority. No use being in a club that doesnt value your input in the name of unncessary loyalty where you'll still be shipped off like a common commodity anyway. You need to see the amount of hate u get at barca when u get a slight deep in form, they start comparing u to scrubs, and the irony is that most of this hate usually come from the club itself in the form of the board/fans/socios/players/ex players etc. If a legend like alvez cant have his contract renewed then its pointless for him to stay and pledge unnecessary loyalty where you're not valued.

Its not about a pay raise. Its either searching for a new adventure or he just doesn't feel valued at the club. If his links with Juve are true (and they seem to be by all accounts) then it can't be money cause he would take a pay cut.

He is getting a 3 year deal making the big bucks, which Barça is unwilling to offer.

I doubt he's even getting an increase from his Barca wages.If he really wanted to make big bucks he wouldve gone to EPL or China.
Making it seem like this is a money issue doesnt compute at all.He simply wants a new experience while still playing top level football with a top club.

barca are on the look out for a new right back and alves knows he wont play as much that's why he is leaving. arsenal fans watch out. barca bids are incoming

They already bought a new RB in Vidal but he has struggled so Barca are forced to look out for a new RB now.

Its funny now that he's leaving,suddenly he's considered unwanted lol.

Great thanks all, I see now... I guess its just the way it goes, so unfair, for some reason hes probably less appreciated by the club it seems then he should be....

All to best to him then, would rather see him leave on a high and be happy, rather than stay in an uncomfortable situation.

Even a continuation from his wages will be a good thing. We will see how long it's for once he officially signs.

He's not coming to Juventus for money.Its 2 yr deal wth an option for another yr structured similar to Evra deal.€3.5M + bonuses is the figure being reported everywhere.

Seems like you guys are too arrogant to accept that he wanted to leave Barca and try something different lol

We have players take these kind of decisions all the time.It doesnt always have to be money motivated.

Tevez wanted to leave for Boca.Llorente wanted to leave for Sevilla.Both certainly werent money motivated.

Just because he wants to leave almighty Barca(how dare he right? ),his decision doesnt necessarily have to be money motivated.He had offers from PSG and United too who would've probably offered more.

Because he is a drama queen and attention whore and just couldn't help himself. He absolutely had to have the last word and quit out of the blue, solely to spite the Barca board and nothing else.

Very few of the Barca players play in Barca because they actually love the club. Even the club graduates leave after 1 season not getting playingtime. Alves has won everything, there is nothing keeping him there no more

He wanted to leave last season. Does nobody else remember him calling out the board in press conferences?

Seems to me like he was intent on leaving, but he decided to stay one more season due to the transfer ban. The main reported reasons for him leaving are because:

A- Doesn't feel valued

B- Wants a new challenge

He's still a good player, so he'll still be of use for a season or two.

PSG has frozen all transfer activity until they see if Simeone comes or not...
