Summer 2016: Copa America, Euro & Olympics Watch
Looks like Messi picked up a knock on his back vs Honduras, had to be subbed out, hopefully nothing serious

Yea saw that. Damn Hondurians, they injured Chicharito literally around this same time last year in a pre-tourney friendly.

Just wanted to say, seems like Barca did Nerman a solid not allowing him to play in the Copa. Every time I turn on my social media, he's out hanging out with celebreties and partying all over the US lol
Also, it's officially confirmed Messi won't play in Argentinas opener.

Re: Summer 2016: Copa America, Euro & Olympics Watch
The media basically going ballistic over Nerman.
The guys basically hanging out with the cream de la cream of the US, all the way from Michael Jordan to Jamie Fox to Van Diesel to Lebron James to Stephen Cury to Selena Gomez to Hamilton to Justin Bieber right up from Beverly hills to California to Los Angelis right up till the NBA finals to the Rose Bowl to the Oracle Arena all in one summer get away. LMAO
The guy's got no chill.. Makes you wonder if he even gives 2 fucxks about the CA tbh..
He even rented an amazing Bev Hills mansion with the help of Airbnb 22,000 square feet big enough for the 11 bros he brought along for the 1-week getaway.

Doubt he will see it that way, he really wanted to get in the pitch today and looked pissed when he was told he can't.
But yeah, Uruguay are as good as out.

of course the player wont like it but honestly it's only great for barca fans, we're going to need suarez fit and ready for the first couple games of the season, with neymar being busy in olympics.

It is good for us in a way. Tremendous free publicity for our club. He even swapped our shirt with that NBA star. Great brand building exercise for our club. Now to crack the Chinese market. Send him on a one month long forced vacation to China.

Re: Summer 2016: Copa America, Euro & Olympics Watch
It really is a shame for Suarez, although excellent news for us. Just saw a stat about Uruguay in major tournaments(CA and WC) with and without Suarez.
10 wins, 3 draws, and one meaningless loss with Suarez. 1 win, 1 draw, and 7 losses without Suarez.
Quite clear how important he is to them. They are a completely different beast with him. With him, I am positive they would have been one of the contenders for the tournament. He just has that intangible ability to raise the level of the entire team when he plays. Can make even pub teams like Liverpool and Uruguay punch above their weight and become championship contenders. And for a super team like us, he raises our level to the point where we almost become unplayable.
It is a rare ability and difficult to put an exact finger on( ability to raise the level of the entire team and make them punch above their weight). Few very players in history have had this ability and Suarez is one of them. Part of the reason why I rate him so highly.

Re: Summer 2016: Copa America, Euro & Olympics Watch
Watched his third goal in slow motion defender looks in slow motion, but messi looks in normal motion. He is one step ahead at moves.this is very hard for the defender and goalkeeper.he always shoots 0.5 seconds before/faster than expected normal time
Messi might be declined a little bit.but his scoring instinct is always there. he is the best scorer in the world if he stays in forward position.actually he is the best at everything

Re: Summer 2016: Copa America, Euro & Olympics Watch
He doesnt need to win. But he does need a dominant performance in the knockouts. So far, he has underwhelmed in all his knockout performances for Argentina. He has had a decent number of chances too. He needs to dominate atleast 2 knockout games out of the 3(performances like today).
Otherwise the old doubts will resurface again and his GOAT standing will once more be questioned with an increasing level of justification.

Re: Summer 2016: Copa America, Euro & Olympics Watch
Just My two cents here
So after scoring 59 goals, and winning the double, suarez gets to loose out on the BDO to messi and CR7, yet again? That guy has no luck whatsoever.
Even in the season, guy needed just one goal to equal CR7's best seasons record, and just one goal to enter into the 60's club but decided that that was the grandest stage to have an injury.
If Neymar and messi weren't helping him pad his stats towards the end of the season, and if not for CR7's injuries, I'm pretty sure he would have lost the pinchichi too.
Incredible player who the CA would have guaranteed a BDO podium at least. But as usual, CR7 would always find a way to somehow steal the limelight from the dead and messi would almost always get that one more tournament to goat and sweep all and everyone under his feet. Sad stuff really
Then there's the case of the media dead set on voting whoever they please deservedly or not.. And for that reason alone, Messi and CR7 will be a guaranteed top 2 for the award, especially as things happen so fast these days that your so called great performances can be forgotten so easily in such a short time. One more thing I found out is that the voting is usually influenced by recent events just before voting closes i.e (August - November).
Infact, I can almost guarantee that if suarez has a meh first half of the season and say I.E Neymar wins the olympics, the media would be all over licking Neymar's butt and he would find his way into the BDO podium again, at suarez expense. While messi and CR7 are probably just about 5 strong performances away in all competitions from guaranteeing a 1st/2nd BDO place. Sad but true, lol.

Re: Summer 2016: Copa America, Euro & Olympics Watch
Remind me again why we sold Sanchez? Had another outstanding game for Chile.
We really should have kept him. He struggled in his first season for us and a bit in the second season too. But he constantly improved and was very good in his third season. Should have kept him as he is an elite attacker and has another 4-5 years ahead of him. Even if we were to sell, should have gone for way more. We should have gotten 30 mil more than we got for him(given some of the amounts scrubs are going for).
