Messi was out two months and played almost 2700 minutes.

There's a reason why Germans seem to hold candle in Europe, they have an edge when they have so little games in Bundesfodder and cup compared to other leagues. Obviously it backfires in these kind of relations. It's a fair punishment of being punch of weaklings resting when men fight to the death in proper leagues.

I never saw how Hames was the best player in the WC. Goes to show you the power of the media. I thought it was Messi overall. The problem for Messi, is that everyone was comparing him to prime Messi.

That's the biggest reason, see arguments like that constantly in media. It has zero logic, I mean the relation should be to other players, not on your own "peak".
