Re: LFP La Liga Awards 2015
even if they called it best foreign player, messi is still a foreign player....last i checked he's not spanish. if they really wanted to create an award to give to neymar without the messi overlap, maybe they should have called it "best player who has played in the league for less than 3 years" (which in itself would be extremely arbitrary). having a best player who happens to come from south america, and a best player from the americas award not go to him is one of the many reasons i find it hard to take individual awards seriously

Technically he IS Spanish. He has a spanish passport. Suarez and Neymar are not European nationals. Neither is Hames I think. It makes sense. The fact that Messi was eligible for Spain says it all.

Re: LFP La Liga Awards 2015
as far as i'm concerned, if you're representing a different country then u qualify as a foreign player (not going into specifics of guys who never play for spain but for the basque or catalan national team). and i'm not exactly sure on what the relevance of a fans five star player is....the name doesn't even make sense. if they are really desperate to give out awards there are sensible ways to do so.....a most improved player award for instance; and neymar could win that category
a fair play award, which they used to have...that makes more sense than fans five star whatever that's called. eto'o had dual citizenship if i'm not mistaken, i'm sure he would have landed the african player title if this was around whilst he was playing. its like every year they're not sure what they want to hand out, so they scrap some awards and create new ones. at one time they had a best player award, and an mvp award, and had one go to messi and the other to cristiano....its all too sensationalized

The fans award is so so the LFP could please Madrid. MVP award Mk2. CR is booed by all fans in every stadium around Spain, including in the bernabeu
It should have gone to Iniesta. The guy gets a standing ovation everywhere.

Seriously?
I remember him and/or Iker saying the same shit 5 years ago. Thats some pipe dream to hold on to.
Madrid will be better than Barca again eventually, and for a period of time longer than 1 season...but they would have replaced Ramos by then im sure.
