Speaking of asspulls I finally saw The Battle of the Five Armies on Sunday night. Wanted to change the channel when Smaug was killed off like a pos in the opening 10 mins, all that hype and careful build up in the second film just for that
Ohhh that movie. I hate that with a passion.

lol and the CGI was awful for that part as well. GoT, a tv show, has had lots of better computer visual moments than that.

Also considering getting a Mad Max bluray, does it have that black/white version? Just started getting my collection. Have 4 so far. Episode 4-6 (the new steelbook, Jedi cover is GOAT) and DOFP.
That's the cover

not sure about the black/white version. I wanted the steelbook cover badly but it got out of stock.
Atm in my collection I have
The Dark Knight trilogy
Bourne Trilogy + the other one
Mad Max.
Not sure if I want to collect comic book films. Don't think they are worth it. I might buy X-Men collection with first class, DOTFP and Apocalypse in the future.
Want to get this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Christopher-Nolan-Directors-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B008PEHXPI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451383755&sr=8-1&keywords=christopher+nolan
but will wait for an updated version with interstellar in it.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Considering getting the Harry Potter one.
Mainly because i want to watch them all in order to decide my best order
I always watch them in a warped order and go for years without seeing certain ones, after my repeated rewatches of the Star Wars films it made me realize that my opinion of certain films can change drastically after a few watches.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Late contender for my fav movie last year is The Martian. Such a brilliant movie from beginning to end. 2 hrs just flew by( no pun intended). Gonna rewatch it again tonight.
Gonna also check out Sicario. Heard great things about it and also everyone in this thread seemed to like it.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Just watched Creed. It was SOOOOOOOOOO good. FFS I finished watching it and hour ago and I'm still pumped about it.
Why is that in a year when Mad Max, Star Wars and Rocky all made amazing come backs Jurassic Park's had to be so terrible?

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Watched some movies in December:
-Creed 8/10 (nothing new, but very well made and acted).
-Steve jobs 8/10 (Fassbender totally nailed Jobs, engaging dialogue)
-Star wars Ep.VII 8/10 (Not a fan, but enjoyed the movie. Had faith on Abrams since he did the same with Star Trek)
-The hateful eight 7.4/10 (Weakest QT movie imo. The entire cast did well, but the first half stretched too long, dialogues were not that intense. The whole movie I was waiting for something to happen, but nothing happened )
-In the Heart of the sea 7.5/10 (Didn't expect much, but the movie was good.)

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Watched Saving Private Ryan foolishly kept delaying as am not big fan of war movies but man is this the best made movie ever or what. Never felt the presence of director this strongly in movie since Godfather. This is the scale with which Directors should be evaluated imo.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
The End of the Tour 3.5/5
It's a really good film that dives into the mind of a writer. The juxtaposition of how the brilliance of a man is perceived from the outer world to how that 'brilliance' is actually manufactured throughout said man's life and perceived by said man himself is quite fascinating. Most of us humans are so caught up in our own pursuit for success and fantasise how we would parade in that success if we get there, that Wallace's story actually serves as a quick reality check as it really stops you in your tracks and humbles you. And finally a film that near perfectly handles the mechanics of a short time mutual partnership which is a journalist spending time with a somewhat famous person in order to just get a simple article for a magazine done. I recommend this by all means.
