The Crescent-Stars
One to watch out at the Euros to provide entertainment. Quite a young team with players like Hakan Chittychittybangbang, Okyakup, Tufan etc while also having the quality experience of Turan, Inan, Tore and Yilmaz

Re: The Crescent-Stars
So glad they qualified.
They are so entertaining at major play-offs.
in 2008, they scored like 2323532 last min goals.
Their last 2 major tournaments they've come 3rd (WC) and semis (2008).
FRANCE IS GONNA BE JUICY !!

Germany B could go deep imho, but they tend to have wonky team morale, a bit unpredictable with Terim at the helm IMHO.

As soon as I saw you posted in this thread, I knew you'd make a Germany B/Germany reject joke
They've had quite a decent team for a while, imo.

At this rate I think we'll soon be talking about Turkey B instead of Germany

Euro 2008 was truly GOAT. I couldn't stop laughing when Turkey kept scoring last minute winner after last minute winner and then Germany did the ultimate troll job by winning by a last minute goal.

lmaooo Even more dramatic than I remembered. Turkish GK getting sent off in the 93th minute after Turkey already used all 3 subs.

I remember Turkey was ravaged by injuries on Euro 08 too. They fielded their 3rd keeper as a fullback against Germany And that match against Croatia holy shit Bilic's reactions

They were actually extremely lucky yesterday to go straight to the European Cup. Kazakhstan pretty much got their only win in a thousand years to help Turkey qualify, lmao. They well deserved it anyways, more than us

Re: The Crescent-Stars
it's not difficult to fall in love for a Turkey player . they often mix talent and determination .
I was a Great fan of Belozoglu Emre , he was a rich man's Kovacic in '02-'03
then he became mad ( ias insulting a referee for 10 *bleep* of in a row ) and injury prone..
well I agree the wonky morale is often been a limit for Turkish players. Indeciphrable about it.
Anyway , their league is improving much ,their clubs invest much money recently so it's not a case their football movmenet is having a moment very promising. I'd like their definitive maturation.
Even against Czech Republic they are playing for the 0-0 , parking the bus, then they had that penalty kick born by a casual action and the match turned.
Not followed during this Euro qualification , but I rate Terim though

Re: The Crescent-Stars
I haven't watched a single Turkey match so I really am unaware how good they are but I would have to take you guys word for it. That being said, every time I think of Turkey, two years spring to mind immediately for me:WC 2002 and Euro 2008, particularly the latter
Futbol is absolutely correct, Euro 2008 was such a goat tournament. Hell, even the qualifiers were GOAT. Newcastle legend Steven McClaren began his legendary status on a rainy night too if I am not mistaken.
