Tottenham Vs Arsenal
COC 3rd round
Wednesday 23rd September: 19:45pm BST
White Hart Lane
We'll play our B team so I don't know what to expect. For Spurs obviously it's the most important match of their season and will start their full strength team. I still think we should at least play the likes of Ozil, Ramsey, Walcott and Sanchez. But doubt we'll see most of them.
Derbies haven't been THAT good recently but this could be a goalfest since it's only the 3rd round of COC so no one will give a shit if we go out.
But obviously let's try and win this.
Expecting this team
------------------------Ospina-------------------------------
Debuchy-------Mertesacker------Chambers----------Gibbs
---------------Arteta-----------Ramsey---------------------
Oxlade---------------Ozil--------------------Joel Campbell
-----------------------Giroud--------------------------------

I wouldn't mind going out of the competition ASAP but then Wenger will want to win and create some momentum for once. It wouldn't surprise me if he went with a strong team.
So long as we avoid injury, I don't care.

Re: Tottenham vs Arsenal [COC 3rd Round]
Having lost the last two games it's important to get back to winning ways before a tough game at the weekend. That and I don't I, or many other fans, would be able to stomach losing to Chelsea and then Spurs in the same week.
My own guess at the team was:
Ospina; Debuchy, Chambers, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Arteta, Flamini; Chamberlain, Ramsey, Campbell; Giroud
Apparently Glenn Kamara, a DM from the U21s, will be on the bench tomorrow, so that might be evidence that Flamini will start the game. Iwobi is going to be involved as well, according to Wenger.
Regardless of the team, I want to see a much better performance than we've been seeing this season. Spurs haven't been great this season either but you know they'll make it a very hard game, especially if they play the way they did last time we went to WHL.

Arsene did state that he is likely to field a strong team, i wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Ozil, Sanchez & Mert start tomorrow. After the fiasco in Zagreb, this is a good opportunity for the likes of Ox, Gibbs, Debuchy to show that they deserve to be starters. They can't play worse than they did that night. I hope we stick at least 4 past them. We din't beat them last season which is unacceptable for an Arsenal team.

Sanchez should be dropped
Watching him nowadays reminds me of Gervinho at his worst

Good Work RG.
Losing 3 games in a row is not acceptable. And I agree with RG, Sanchez must be rested.
I wonder which of our summer signing will Wenger sign, Arteta or Flamini? wonderful choices.

I agree - the Ox is in good form and Sanchez clearly needs a rest.

Throw out the youngsters for the game and hope for the best. I understand its a derby but considering our average start in the big competitions, a set of mickey mouse cup games aren't needed and will only be a distraction.

We couldn't throw out the youngsters even if we wanted to because the majority are out on loan.

Wenger
“There are no fringe players [here], there is only a first-team squad. It is an opportunity for Arsenal to win an important game and for the players who play for the club to defend our club and qualify.
“Apart from that, we played with the team in Zagreb and we didn’t win, so we want to come back now and win our cup games because that’s vital for us.”

We should surely be able to make some chances against that Spurs defence and pivot.

Re: Tottenham vs Arsenal [COC 3rd Round]
Kick off could be delayed as the Arsenal team bus is stuck in traffic.

Good that Wenger didn't bow to pressure and play our first XI in this pointless competition.

The team has arrived. Kick-off as normal, it seems.
