Why are International games so boring ?
Imo outside of the competitions themselves the international games are boring, for instance France-Portugal today was a borefest despite the presence of good/great players on the pitch. Players had nothing to lose but the quality displayed war not great. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a friendly game.

Re: Why are International games so boring ?
Obviously this is an unpopular opinion but Internationals feels like 'filler' more than anything.
Players couldn't care less unless it's a small nation where they badly want to make themselves proud.
Saw 10 minutes of france-portugal where literally every player wanted to go off and it was about 9th minute.
Competitions are amazing. Always look forward to the WC, Euros and sometimes lesser events like copa america. Reason for that is because friendlies and qualification happens between club season where everyone is invested and no one likes the momentum to break.
imo

Germany-Poland was not boring. One of the better matches I saw recently, even.

You shouldn't use a friendly as an example. A mid-season international friendly, of course no one's going to give a ****.
Actual qualifiers are not boring. Not as exciting as club football, no, but not boring, either. And we all like the WC and the Euros and you can't have them without the qualifiers.

It was a friendly, what did you expect.
If you want to get entertained watch competitive games, Denmark vs Albania despite not having great names in it, no goals or even a history between them was highly competitive and anything but boring.

Re: Why are International games so boring ?
Basically, no matter what players might say, nobody can motivate themselves for a friendly game in mid-season unless it's a really big game simply because there's nothing at stake and they don't want to injure themselves in the middle of the club season.
Qualifiers are a lot better since there are points and qualification at stake. I've watched all of England's qualifiers, as well as Wales', and some of Germany and Spain, and haven't been bored at all. There's been some real tension in some of those games.

It's a friendly plus players in the NT play together only a couple of times per year so there's often no chemistry in the team. WC and Euros is another thing though.
