The Pedro hype

Reading redcafe for some lolz I noticed that United fans are very happy that they're in for Pedro. Seem to be under the impression that they're getting a dangerous and reliable goalscorer, and classic tricky spanish player. It's almost as if they've seen nothing of him since he scored on them back in 2011. And they think just because he's a spanish player on a big team he is a Joaquin, Vincente, Silva level player just waiting to explode...sorry to rain on rain on your parade guys but Pedro is garbage...the barca fans i know let out a collective "o fvck it's pedro" when he comes on and 22 mill POUNDS is highway robbery. He is a 15 million euro player.

From what I've read on Redcafe it's actually the opposite and many are highly skeptical and think they need higher class players (Bale obsession) to compete with the big boys in the CL.

While a lot of Barca fans call him a fraud you have to understand that Barca standards are different. Fabregas and Sanchez were also frauds for us and let go after 3 seasons and every Barca fan is happy about it. While Pedro doesn't deserve game time over Messi, Neymar or Suarez, he is probably a better (but certainly not worse) wide forward than Mata, Jumanji, Young, Valencia and whoever else Yanited got there. Depay I'll reserve judgement until I see him play outside a league where Finnbogason, Wilfried Bony, Bas Dost, Björn Vleminckx, El Hamdaoui and Dirk Kuyt score 30 goals in a season.

You can do worse business for 22 million pounds.

I actually think Pedro won't be terrible for us. He is a player that does well when given instructions on what to do. A bit like Ashley Young. I think he would fit van Gaal's system. When he is given no specific job he looks clueless. He is the definition of a system player if there was one I suppose although I usually don't even agree with that term

Makes me laugh how nobody remembers that the main reason Barca got smashed so hard by Bayern was because nobody offered any attacking threat what so ever.

They could keep piling forward knowing that there was no significant threat going the other way, Messi kept dropping deep and nobody was making runs in behind.

Pedro was absolutely awful in those games because he stopped running off the ball, so with Messi dropping deep they had absolutely no threat going forward.

Those games were the sole entire reason they brought Neymar and later on Suarez. They realised they needed more individualism in the attacking third because Messi had absolutely zero help around him after Villa had left and Pedro had turned into someone who doesn't move beyond the half way line.

Ironic thing that ( due to injuries mind you ) the same thing happened to Bayern lol, but nah underrated Pedro who who would start at other clubs if not for MSN lmao.

He's been declining from his previous level long before you signed Neymar lol, keep dat myth going tho.

Pedro at 30 mil is totally realistic price considering the inflated market. Pedro is not Barca's starting material, especially when you consider our starting three. I mean there are many starters from big teams such as Bayern and RM that would find it really hard to start in Barca attack, let alone Pedro.

He is underrated at Barca because, well, take a look at Barca's run in last 10 years or so and it all comes clear.

He is hard worker, but a bit without vision when it comes to unlocking games. He used to be good at moving into right time and place to score goals, but seams to lost that ability in last 2-3 seasons. Perhaps with different system and coach he can be similar to Alexis, who had similar fate to Pedro at Barca and found his form in PL.

Is he ManU material? I kind of doubt it TBH. It is a bit of gamble for a player who's been out of form for a while.

There will be a preseason friendly soon between Yanited and Barca. Pedro to impress against Yanited and then sign the contract. Cristiano 2.0.
