To be honest I don't see how else the White Walkers would get South. I don't imagine GRRM made the Wall only for it to never break, it's the biggest Chekhov's gun in the story.

I could well see it happen, end of S6 Wall goes down - S7 has the Night's Watch and the North get anhiliated, important players fleeing South while southerners are distracted by the arrival of Daenerys Targaryen in Westeros and still unaware of the WW threat.

An extended S8 has the Battle of Dawn and rebuilding of civilization after devastating wars and famine.

Will get interesting now. His whole arc over four seasons was getting to the Three Eyed Crow and now that slog is done and he is finally there, he should hopefully be doing interesting stuff.

Viewer anger over Game of Thrones rape scenes means changes in Season 6

smh..

TBF Sansa's rape scene was terribly executed, especially the way it lingered on Theon's face making it seem that his punishment for being forced to watch this was as great as Sansa's.

All the episodes that have included rape in GoT are rated worse than other episodes so maybe this is for the best.

So for season 6, is the plan to go back and use some of the storylines cut from the books, or just make it up as they go and completely disregard the books?

The plan is to go back for some storylines (Riverlands, Iron Islands) and TWoW material for the rest.
